Our experience did not align with the level of reviews this place has. Atmosphere and host were wonderful. After we were sat at the table: Server didn’t realize he was seated a new table Meatballs were great Carrots were so burnt we sent it back Focaccia bread was delicious Only good thing on the pizza was the sausage The short rib tasted like mushrooms only None of the dishes were hot when we received them. The meatballs came out 2-3 minutes after we ordered them and it seemed like they had been sitting for a while and we were the lucky folks who ordered it (they were still delicious though!) The server seemed to be running around like he was 1 of 2 and it was towards the end of the night.

Nice fancy place! Surprisingly very fast service, only took a few minutes to get our food. The entire interior has a faint smell of truffles because truffle is an ingredient in some of the dishes, which makes the experience unique. Truffle can be added to ur dishes too. I also completely recommend the polenta

Cucina Urbana is, hands down, my favorite place to eat in San Diego. The Italian-inspired cuisine is exceptional, and the wine list is robust. The decor is modern but warm and inviting, and the staff always make us feel welcomed.

My favorite restaurant in San Diego! I love bringing out-of-town guests here. I have enjoyed every dish I have tried. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is romantic and unpretentious. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is accommodating toward kids and even offers a coloring page with crayons. I appreciate that, as it is rare in this level of fine dining.

I was blown away! We had a sausage pizza and it was amazing!! We tried a few different appys, stuffed squash blossoms (this was my fav), whole baked carrots and focaccia bread. We had zero proof drinks which were also very flavourful. Beautiful decor and huge selection of wine. Definitely worth putting this in the rotation of regulars to dine out for. For the quality of food, prices are on point and not absurd. Definitely recommend!!

Loved it here, service was amazing, the food and drinks were also extremely good. I recommend the Short Rib pasta. Shout out to Sean, such a great server! 5/5.
