A little rushed but sweet and everything was delicious!
A really cute spot to have a tea date with friends. Reservations highly recommended! Especially if you come on the weekends!Conveniently located in Japantown with lots of adorable shops and eateries, my friend and I made reservations here about a week in advance. It was a rainy day and we appreciated they accommodated letting us come 15 minutes earlier to start our high tea. Atmosphere: Very pink and cute. It's not a huge space and it definitely gets completely packed. Bathrooms are located down the stairs in the building. Service: Our server was friendly. A little on the quiet side. I wish she checked in with us a bit more because it was a little hard to get her attention. The table next to us had a different server who was much more outgoing and came around way more often. They looked well taken care of. My friend and I both did the afternoon tea for one which came salad, a mini quiche and hotdog bite, 2 sandwiches, cucumber triangle, scone, crumpet, and 4 mini desserts (lemon cookie, chocolate cake square, mini fruit tart, chocolate covered strawberry). I got the strawberry fields tea which our server recommended. It was great! Perfectly fruity and had a nice finish on the palate. The sandwiches and savory items were pretty solid. I really enjoyed the scone but the crumpet wasn't that good. I would say the chocolate covered strawberry and the fruit tart were both winners but the rest of the desserts were just ok for me. Overall, it was a nice experience. Definitely a great place if you're looking to chat with a friend and have some tea and snacks.
3.5 stars - my friends and I truly enjoyed our time here but overall for the price we're paying the experience could be better. I loved the warm foods and being able to choose 2 tea flavors with our afternoon set. Where it fell short for us was the dessert selection - my friends and I weren't too keen about the macarons. The biggest surprise for us was that this isn't a standalone store but is at a lobby of a bigger building. The section that belongs to this tea salon is well decorated but we just couldn't ignore the fact that we're sitting in a lobby.
A bizzare idea nestled in the lobby next to the stairs. An oddity in tight space, but do judge on your own.
A lovely, relaxing English teatime in Japantown. The 4 tea sandwiches were delicious and fresh, accompanied by a small salad. A big pot of tea of their house blend of black tea and a scrumptious crumpet with cream, jam and lemon curd. Fitting to be here today to pay homage to Queen Elizabeth who passed on today. Thanks to Amy and Greta for a lovely time.
4 Empty tables but wouldn’t seat us. Ended up stuck in the pouring rain.
A semi-hidden High Tea delight in the middle of San Francisco. The food is quite filling and really good. The crumpets are real, not replaced with some fancy toast. Their crumpets taste like the ones that have to be kept in refrigeration (top quality) prior to serving. The blueberry scones were devine! A puffy chicken pot pie! Wow!
I had a great experience. For me, the thorough theme of the restaurant and ambiance was the distraction I needed. Dare not feel those good childhood memories before taking that first sip of tea.
