Cross-Eyed Cricket Family Restaurant

I don't know what has happened to this place. They have always had really good food, but tonight, the service was horrible. We ordered coffee and were told they were waiting on fresh coffee, and when we got it, it was barely room temp. We asked for creamer and never received it. My wife tried to get her attention twice, and she ealked right past her after making eye contact. We sat for another 30 minutes without her ever coming back with the cups on the edge of the table. Eventually, after realizing we weren't going to get service, we had to leave without ever getting our food. It's a shame some ppl think they should get paid for service when they don't give anything at all. Some ppl just want a handout. We could hear her in the back, cutting up and laughing but not being attentive to any of her customers.

Very nice place to eat. Service was good. I ordered the Cricket Melt (basically a patty melt with two hamburger patties) and it was excellent. Will come again.

We had breakfast here for the first time. The parking is a little tight especially when they're busy. The wait was a bit long to be seated , and the food took a little long, but this place is like grandmas home cooking. The wait felt just like it was part of the experience and it definitely was worth it. I got the fried bread pudding and it was great. This is like eating at Crockett's Breakfast camp in Gatlinburg. It was busy and crowded but places are usually busy because they are great. Given the location and the quality of the food I'd say, "It is easy to put up with the small atmosphere and enjoy some of the best breakfast in Evansville.

We had a great late lunch/early dinner here today! Our server was so sweet. Proportions of food were amazing! Sweet tea was perfect. We both got the chicken fried chicken. We left stuffed! Only negative we found was both the bathrooms needed some attention. We’ll definitely be back to try the breakfast! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to go in

Great food at a decent price. The breading on the chicken fried steak is probably the best I've ever had! It's nothing fancy but has a nice local feel. Would definitely go again.
