Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

One of my favorite places to eat when I want comfort food, and like home cooked food. My favorite is the marinated chicken tenders, carrots and green beans. I've eaten other dishes and never was disappointed. I love the hashbrown breakfast casserole also.

Wanted to visit the newly remodel location at I-40/Stewarts Ferry Pike. While the upgrades brighten the place, the service still remains the same. Subpar at best. We’ve had issues each time we’ve visited this location. Once we were seated and looking through the menu, our server finally came to our table and asked my husband what he wanted to drink and before he could get his drink order out, she immediately asked him what he wanted to eat. Then she didn’t even ask me, she just turned and looked at me. Again, very rushed. I ordered the Mama’s Pancake breakfast. When the food arrived, the pancakes were cold bc the butter wouldn’t even melt. I sent those back and ate on my eggs and sausage. Thankfully, they returned about 5 minutes later with a freshly made order of pancakes that were delicious. After we finished and paid through mobile pay, we looked in the shop. We made a purchase and once at the register, the young man was not thrilled to be there. He hardly acknowledged us and just rang up our purchase. We had to tell him we had points to use from the rewards app and had to ask for our receipt. There was no “thank you” or “have a nice day”. This continued to validate the reason we do not usually go to this location and we will not return.

Good place to go eat instead of eating fast food when you are on the road traveling. Plus, who can't help themselves without browsing their gift shop!

I absolutely love this restaurant, everywhere I go! And talk about The Shopping, I've even shopped there when I didn't eat! Love it that much!
