$99.99 super combo is very small. You will be disappointed. Chowder is just so-so. We didn't have good experience on any dish. Sad about this.

(Edited) I left a comment that the restaurant charged extra $10 on my final bill here and their yelp page. The reason was that they replied to my initial comment on the yelp page, saying that they'll reach out to me, but they didn't. Thus, after ONE YEAR, I made another comment and reached out to them, asking them about the additional $10 charge. They pulled out the receipt copy, and it turns out that there was arithmetic issue there. The original bill was $109.35, and I multiplied it by 1.15 and put $125.00 on the total section (and wrote $125 down on my copy). Then I did the subtraction wrong and put $25.65 for the gratuity (it should be $15.65). Although I put $125.00 on the total section, they still charged me 109.35 + 25.65 = $135.00. I admitted that I made an arithmetic error, but it is my understanding from Visa’s own rules that in cases where the gratuity does not match the total, the total amount is what should be charged. They replied that the policy is for the server to enter the tip amount, not the total amount, but they are willing to return the $10 to me. That's the whole story.

#The crab shack is a little old place where we can get together, crab shack bay-bee, crab shack baby, crab shack, that's where it's at, crab shack, that's where it's at...#Sorry, this is what happens sometimes. Crab House is as touristy as they come. Really. From the 'Got Crabs?' t-shirts to the plastic crabs and fisherman's nets which adorn the walls and ceilings, to the cellophane bibs and the giant sharing plates of seafood, this was something a bunch of Europeans like us just *had* to do during our stay in SF. Pier 39 baby. Bring it.I experienced many brand new things at Crab House. One of which was being told to 'walk around' by a front of house member of staff. Yes, this is true. Jenny L and I popped over on behalf of our group of 8 which was arriving in a few separate segments, and we had booked, so we quote:    'Your table isn't ready yet, the gentleman there is still paying.' (Points at restaurant area.) 'You can just walk around for a while if you want.'Oh... okay? Around... the restaurant itself? Right. What we *did* do was pull up a few pews at the bar, and though this isn't the restaurant's fault, the gentleman in question seemed to be taking a financial analysis course at our table. Really, how long does it take to pay? What *was* the restaurant's fault however was that we were sat at that bar for approximately half an hour, and nobody even offered a drinks order. That was also pretty new to me.What else was new? Oh yeah! So the guy opposite who was crabbing it up with his girlfriend did something I'd never seen before. He had a Corona with a lime in it, and after popping the wedge down into the neck of the bottle he covered the rim with salt, like a margarita. As a Corona fan I was intrigued, and if I'm feeling brave enough I might try it myself one day. Tips! The really nice dude sat next to us at the bar recommended one thing: the garlic fries. In fact those were so good, we ended up ordering two batches. Double tips!Meanwhile we did eventually sit down, and four members of our party shared the monster epic crab dinner which looked amazing, and delightfully messy. It was apparently very garlicky but very good. I had basa fillet which blew me away, I had to say I wasn't expecting brilliance from a tourist trap but I was super impressed with the sundried tomatoes (I'm so 80s, I was also wearing a jumpsuit to dinner), the giant couscous, and even the salad side was delicious, along with the roasted veg. Jenny L and Row H both had steaks which they were equally surprised by. So we were all happily fed, and the waitress who attended to us was delightful. The beer drinkers at the table didn't rate the pitcher too hotly, but our Chardonnay was crisply nice enough. The crab theme is cute (some may hate it but you've got to appreciate it in the kitschy charm kind of way), but marks down for the weird start to the evening... Other than that, thumbs up all round - great food, great company and a great way to spend our free night in the city.

"We recently visited SF for 2011 Spring Break. We we're really looking forward to eating here. Let me just say. THE FOOD IS GREAT.... the service SUCKS!!!!I would definitely go back, but this time with really low expectations. We got sat, 10 minutes went by and we had not been greeted by "our server." At this point we were looking at each other, looking around considering to leave. The manager saw us, and did not even acknowledge us, he headed to kitchen and got a server really quickly!! The server comes to our table and says, "Are you ready to order?" Those were his first words. Anyways, at this point we just wanted to eat. We ordered. We ate. The busser came by a few times more than the server and asked if we needed anything. So we decided to tip the bus boy instead of "our server." We ordered the filet mignon with crab and the combo mussels, shrimp & crab skillet. Both dishes were really good!! We also liked the fact that they offer a pitcher of their house beer for $19. Good amount of beer for 2 ppl.

"Lotsa Crab" (3lbs) is sooo good tasting and a good amount for two adults who like crab ($50). It comes out super fast after you order it so if you want some time to enjoy your drinks...then be sure and wait to order. Reservations through Open Table make it so easy to plan your visit.

$100 of crab legs never tasted so good.  This place was absolutely great for crab (as it damn well should be), and without doubt my favorite place on the pier.
