Reservations required credit card deposit of $25 per person for cancelation. Limited menu items. Exorbitant prices for appetizers, meals & drinks. The appetizers & drinks were good, but definitely no value eating experience here.
I went to hear music, have drinks and dinner. I made a reservation on line for the bar which took six hours to process. The bar was empty when I arrived. The atmosphere is decent but could use some work. Paper sparkling stars wouldn't be my choice for the main decor. The acoustics are horrible. At half capacity servers and customers yelling to compensate for hearing loss became oppressive, especially when I went to hear jazz. The service was outstanding, the drinks were great and the bartender (I think Job, but couldn't hear him clearly), was spectacular and worked wonders with a trying to be trendy, unknown vodka and red wine selection. This place is just trying too hard to be something it isn't. The host (especially) and servers I observed were doing that 90s pretentious thing, complete with synchonized robotic movements which were both so silly, I laughed a bit. l wouldn't return as the food is just bad. I had the wild boar with pasta. It tasted like ramen from college with jerky thrown in, but with less flavor. The bartender was so spectacular, I sacrificed the money and gave up without complaint. Went home and had leftovers fondly reflecting on the drinks and music, $100.00 for three drinks, one inedible entree, tip.
This neighborhood gem was recommended to me by friends. I devoured the Southwestern Breakfast with Dragon Session Sausage. I love spicy food and it lived up to its name! The staff was exceptionally pleasant. It was a beautiful day, and many guests were sitting at the outdoor tables. I needed to get some work done, so I sat at an indoor booth and used their complimentary Wifi.
Located in the barrio, the restaurant is an old mission style building. Within you will be treated to classy art deco atmosphere. When the waiter says the food is eclectic but not pretentious, you should expect it to lean towards pretentious. Drink prices were reasonable.
The line was so slow that I never made it to the counter to place my order. Staff were fiddling with computer hardware behind the counter with little consideration for the waiting clientele. Came home and made myself a great breakfast with ingredients from the fridge.
Everything about this restaurant is excellent. We ate many small plates and each our own main dish. The food is interesting and yummy. The service is quite nice and not rushed. The cocktails are interesting and quite tasty. The wine list extensive. The patio was roomy and the live music excellent. Dogs welcome inside and on the patio. The gluten free person had many options and the staff were aware Dietary restrictions: Well versed in Gltuen free
