Cori's Modern Kitchen + Bar

My server was the bartender. Needless to say, her service was awful. The only time she checked on us was to return our change. And to say pls don't hesitate to tell folks about us...customer service isn't her best quality. I'm sure she had some. I just didn't get to see them. Fortunately, her tip was already included at 17%, otherwise she may have gotten 3.00.

The signage outside is not the best .You will actually miss the restaurant if you dont know exactly where it is. The inside is nicely decorated and the bar area looks festive, but it was extremely cold. There was a small space heater by the front door and another small one in the dining room. Because we were seated on the opposite side of the heater.. we couldnt feel the heat.We ended up eating with our coats and scarves on. Our server Amos was very knowledgeable and gave us accurate descriptions of his favorite dishes. We ordered cornbread, lemon pepper wings, lamb chops, shrimp & grits, garlic spinach, sweet potatoes, and rice pilaf. The food was delicious! Everything was perfectly seasoned. We tasted everything and then took our food to-go because we were to cold to stay. I would definitely come back and order food to go if the heating issue has not been fixed. This place doesn't look its best from the outside. The cuisine is fantastic! Very high-end atmosphere and cuisine. The scallops are perfectly done. They were served over perfectly creamy mashed potatoes and well seared. The dish came together thanks to the zesty sauce. The sandwich made with fried catfish was excellent, with a deliciously crispy outside.

Let me start by saying the cornbread is very good. Our server Amos was kind and he told a lot of dad jokes which was really cute. However, the service is pretty slow, but it seems like they may be short staffed. I watched two women come in and ask to speak to a manager to ask questions. They waited 10 minutes and nobody ever came to speak to them. I'd like to come back to see how It is during busier times. They have the potential to be amazing.

You may miss this restaurant from the outside. The exterior does not do this place justice. The inside is really nicely decorated. The bar area looked open and inviting! The dining room was spacious and modern looking. The host told us the food was scratch made and may take longer than expected, fair warning. My seat felt like the bottom was broken, I changed chairs and the other one was not much better. We went at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon and there were a few other two top tables being served. My complaint about the atmosphere was the dirty dishes that were left on the bar and the men’s bathroom stall door leaning in the stall. Amos was our friendly server. He was not very attentive for as quiet as it was. We were not given ice water when we sat down. I asked two people for ice water (including Amos) and it took about 15 minutes to get a couple glasses. My wife had the sweet tea. She said it was good, not too sweet. We ordered the corn bread and fried green tomatoes. It took nearly an hour for our apps to come out. Amos brought us out the pepper and lemon wings. We informed him we did not order them and he seemed perplexed. We said that we would eat them because we were starving. They were really good. The corn bread was served in cast iron with a hearty dollop of vanilla honey butter. The corn bread was fantastic. It had a lovely crust and a soft interior. The butter was a little sweet for me but my wife enjoyed it. The fried green tomatoes were tangy and juicy. The batter was thin and crispy. The goat cheese and compote were such a fabulous accompaniment. I had the fried chicken and substituted the sidewinder fries. The chicken was as close to perfect as you could get. They breading was dark brown and crunchy but not over breaded. The chicken was so juicy. The fries were lightly seasoned. They were really well executed, not greasy and hearty! My wife got shrimp and grits. She fawned over how creamy and flavorful the dish was. She said that it was the best shrimp and grits she ever had. The portions were big and we ended taking food home. Parking: There was plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant.

I've now eaten there a few times and the food and service is fantastic! The only dig is the atmosphere and really more about the building they are renting and not the restaurant itself. Some of the chairs are old but pleasantly surprised how good the food and service are! Not one of the best restaurants but, one of the best restaurants; if not the best in this area hands down! Better than Red Lobster across the street and with Via Roma now closed, Cori's is #1! If you want to take your lady to a nice restaurant, without breaking the bank, look no further! Well worth it! They also have a VERY nice Sunday brunch! Parking: Parking right out front, restaurant is in the bottom of the office building. Wheelchair accessibility: All on bottom level, double doors to enter restaurant.

First time here and the food and drinks were wonderful! The service was nice as well and the atmosphere was cool. We will definitely be back!

The Chef is African American & he cooks & serves too... The Chef is super cool and professional.. They have a fried sesame shrimp that's the BomB... That's my favorite... This place does add an Auto-Tip to your order.... Parking: A lot of spaces outside.
