Easily the worst bar in Exeter. The staff are atrociously rude, probably due to being understaffed, which is almost certainly down to the even ruder manager who has the social grace and tact of a venomous spider. The environment itself could be nice, in fact it used to be, but goodness knows what has been happening over the past few years, the place is falling apart. Fortunately there are considerably nicer and cheaper alternatives along Gandy Street, so my advice to anyone looking for somewhere to spend the evening, is to keep walking! EDIT: my profile is not hidden - as you can see from the response from Cooling's staff, I'm definitely not wrong in my assessment of them. Most establishments would write a professional "I'm sorry you've had a bad experience, what can we do to help?" - Not smarmy sarcasm. Utterly unprofessional and a shockingly poor example of basic customer service and PR. I recommend people look through the other bad reviews and see how customers with problems are treated! THIS is why you got a bad review.

Woefully understaffed. The pre-booked event of a comedy night had 80 people turn up, yet there was 1 person on pizzas in the kitchen and 1 person behind the bar. Group who had paid for bottomless drinks couldn't get them. Most customers sat in front of empty glasses for the second half. The staff were pleasant enough under terrible circumstances. Whoever runs the place lost a lot of revenue. I'd hesitate to visit again.

Bottomless brunch at a quiet time but with a group that brought our own atmosphere. Well looked after, quick service and friendly helpful staff. Great time had and will definitely be back Vegetarian options: The group ordered with the bottomless brunch a number of the veggie nachos, which were good. They come with premade sauce style guacamole, salsa and sour cream squirted on top, not fresh and handmade but perfect to soak up the cocktails

Came here for some cocktails and to watch the open mic night, it was so fun, great service, would highly recommend!

Lovely bartenders. Great live music. Fantastic location for socials
