This is a review for the bar only. I met a client there to pick up some paperwork and had a drink at the bar while I was waiting. The wait staff was friendly and made an excellent old fashioned.

Food was expensive but very, very good. Our party of 6 was celebrating an anniversary and so we splurged. We tried most everything, including several appituzers I and all were quite different and delicious. Service was excellent in every respect.. we were unfamiliar with the Cuban menu but our waiter was very helpful, as well as entertaining and friendly. Were the parkinf arrangements better this would be a 5 star restaurant. Parking: They claim to have valet service but not at 6:30 PM on Friday evening. Several cats were parked the signage said was a drop of zone. We parked down a small hill and a half block away in a big Las Vagas style lot. Quite a shock when drove in thru beautiful desert setting that had a very attractive rural for a half mile after turning of Sunrise.

Great place and great service. We ordered the parrilla for two .The only problem i had was the food we were given burnt rice. I wanted to like it but honestly it disappointed me. Everyone deserves second chances I guess but for the price I expected better quality food.

First time here and this was our last night in Tucson before driving back to Illinois. Food was great, service was very slow. Husband and I shared the beet salad and got the empanada and fish special.

We’ve been to La Paloma several times over the years, mostly when it was Janos and JBar… anyway, we finally gave Contigo a try. Service was good, though the table was terrible…a 6 top for 2 people, with a reservation? I would have rather been in the bar. Margarita was ok, too sweet. Hubs said the Old Fashioned was good. Overall, my impression of the food was acid was underused even when acid was used? Salt was prominent, and while I don’t think salt was overused the dishes weren’t balanced. Beet salad was interesting. My grouper was overcooked. Way overcooked. Came with a half of lemon but I could have used three whole lemons on that rubbery thing. The octopus desperately needed acid. My husband’s paella had nice seafood on it, but I suspect it was slightly overcooked - the shellfish dried out very quickly which changes texture. I’m not a saffron fan so to me the rice flavor was awful (which is why I don’t order paella), the only note I picked up was saffron, but it had a nice crunchy crust. Chocolate torte was large and rich and very good. Espresso was….thin? Will I go back? No.

2/13/24- This is the usual place that hires pretty young girls all dressed in black. They're too young and don't seem to have enough experience, but then again, how will they get the experience. But the real problem with it is how the building is designed. No matter where you sit, it's loud. Also, if you're in the room closest to the patio, the door constantly opens from the servers going back and forth. While you would think there would be a great view from almost every room, the fact is the pillars outside block it. This restaurant is probably great in the spring, fall, and summer, but it's not great in the winter. As for the food, it was good! We had the calarmi, sope (a creamy potatoe veggie cheese concoction), the bacon wrapped medjool dates, short rib tacos, and fish tacos. The fish tacos had too much sauce/coleslaw and it ruined the flavor. The white rice that came on the side could of been better. Black beans were fine. The dates were good. I'll go back for the short rib tacos, sit at the bar, but I probably won't order anything else.
