We absolutely loved our experience at the Compline. We came for the Light Art Festival and the Restaurant Week, and both did not disappoint. Everything we tried was so good including the wine pairing selection. Service was excellent and friendly. We will be back!
One of my favorite restaurants in Napa! Service & atmosphere on point every time, and the quality of the food is at a premium - sourcing from local purveyors (highest quality meat) vegetarian options available too.
The sunchoke ravioli was awesome!
I just celebrated my birthday today at Compline, and I must express my disappointment regarding the experience. Having eagerly anticipated the visit after watching a positive review on YouTube, my excitement was unfortunately marred by an incident involving the service. Estevan, the waiter at the bar, assisted us throughout the evening. However, when he returned the check for me to sign, my credit card was missing. This situation caused considerable distress, especially since I was visiting from out of town, and all my transactions were tied to that particular credit card. The search for the card took about 30 minutes, and Estevan and the manager said they were looking for it however, they were busy attending to other guests and despite their efforts, my card was nowhere to be found. Then out of the blue their front desk receptionist informed me that another guest had found my card on the floor and she gave it to me. Which now makes me think how my card even got there in the standard open area and we were sitting at the bar and payment transactions were also processed there. While I appreciate the recovery of my card, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about the potential risk to my personal information, considering the prevalence of cyber crimes. The manager assured me that their staff would not engage in such behavior, but my concern lies in the initial mishandling of the situation and their lack of urgency attending to this matter. I even ask Estevan to review their CCTV but said they did not have it in that area but I saw one there by the counter where they process payment. In a busy restaurant, losing a credit card is an unfortunate oversight, and the lack of a genuine apology compounded my frustration. Not only did this incident inconvenience me greatly, but it also prompted me to cancel my credit card for security reasons. I now find myself managing accounts where the card was linked, adding an extra layer of frustration to an already disappointing experience. To add to my disappointment, the food, particularly the carbonara, fell short of expectations—oversalted and lacking the anticipated flavor profile. This entire experience has left a negative impression, and regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment based on my visit and will never come back. I sincerely hope they take this feedback constructively. As a customer who had looked forward to celebrating a special occasion at Compline, it pains me to recount such a negative experience.
Friendly staff, great wine list, and the best French fries in Napa. Pasta made in house. All the other food is good, no matter what you order, get it with fries. Service can be slow sometimes. It's worth it.
Compline is where you want to go to have a truly welcoming Napa experience. Ryan and his staff never fails to go above and beyond with their hospitality. At Compline you're more than a customer. The food is outstanding! My tastebuds danced in merriment. I look forward to each and every visit. A huge thank you to everyone at Compline. Xoxo Bonus- you must check out their artfully curated wine list and tasting room located a couple doors down. You can thank me later.
The duck fat fries were delicious but being out of the burger when we came in for dinner was a little disappointing
AVOID THIS PLACE. My family called ahead and asked if they had any options for my 3 year old. They said they could do butter noodles. We showed up and ordered the noodles along with our adult dishes. At the end of the meal, they brought the check and charged us $32 for butter noodles. I asked to speak to someone about it and the manager came out. Very pretentiously he went on to lecture me about how it’s the same culinary process to create these noodles as it would be for their regular pasta carbonara dish (which also has meat and other ingredients not present in the kids dish) so that’s why the full charge. I told them that if we had known that from the beginning that we would not have ordered them. He was indignant and had a condescending attitude the whole conversation until finally, begrudgingly agreeing to offer an insignificant discount for the pasta. Also, the portions for all other dishes were absurdly small and overpriced. Do not go to this place - you can get better food in Napa for a better price and better service. Vegetarian options: Only one veg option. Kid-friendliness: NOT KID FRIENDLY and rude to parents too. Parents and families NOT welcome.
I went in on a Saturday and asked to sit outside. They told me no tables were available outside. I pointed out a table outside. They said they had reservations. I sat out side at the restaurant next door. The table I pointed out remained open the entire time. I won’t be back.
