Best prawn pil pil outside of Spain I have ever had, nice Resturant and good atmosphere here with good service. Would revisit if we can
Been there twice and both times fully satisfied. Had there signature salad and a salt cod special. Really goo5,will return again.
The Columbia restaurant Is one of the Best restaurants on the Suncoast it is been around for years and anyone who goes there should try the 1905 salad how long with other Cuban cuisine Great restaurant great service right on Saint Armand Circle
During my visit to Florida I visit columbia, very busy place my first impression was the waiting is going to be long but we did not have to wait only 10 minutes, the staff very frienly and fast I did not like the fish at all, the waiter stick with not be able to get some tomatoes out of the fish I order,he brought the season in a bow so the fish was plain with no flavor, they are not willing to accomodate the client in this case was me I have some stomch issues so I can not eat tomatoes, seens to me they are in a rush all the time
The only negative was waiting 40 mins for a table at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Food was very good, service was also good and prices are reasonable. Will definitely return
I was really excited to go the the Columbia. I've walked past it in St Armands 3 dozen times at least. Plus, I love Cuban food so I kinda knew what to expect as far as that goes. Sadly the Columbia was a dissapointment. The food tasted like nursing home food (yes I've tasted nursing home food)bland, spiceless, saltless....a shame really. For the price you pay for an entree it should be the best spanish food you have ever had in your life. Its not even in my top thirty. I will say that the service there is amazing. The wait staff is some of the best I have ever had. Save your money and walk around St Armands to Cha Cha Coconuts. Their food is suprisingly good. And cheap. Then go to Le Macroon for dessert. Freaking delicious macaroons there. They also have Gelato. So, in review. Columbia is way over priced and bland. Perfect for the rich 80yr olds in Sarasota. I say steer clear.
I was in St Armand's Circle on Christmas Day, and this restaurant seemed to be the only one attracting many customers. I ordered Steak Salteado, which was delicious. The restaurant is very alive with many people. The service was good; the waitress served us promptly, yet she seemed fairly lethargic. I think that the ambience is 5 stars and the service 4. The food can be 3-5 depending on what you order. The tapas someone in my party ordered were not good, while my meal was great. This restaurant is also a little overpriced. I would recommend it to anyone looking to eat on St. Armand's Key, but I feel that there are better options in Sarasota. Overall , a visit to this restaurant will offer a nice ambience and a filling meal , but will most likely not be anything incredibly special.
