ColoVista Golf Club

Called for a pool membership recently. Mr. Browne wanted to know if it was for part or whole household. I’m a homeowner in Colovista consisting of a disabled couple unable to swim and a 12 year old grandson. Mr. Browne quoted $580 plus change to use the pool for the year. It’s April, so we don’t get a full year. Only one person swimming, two can only watch. Pool is not open year round, only 5-6 months depending on owner and weather. Our POA dues 100% fund Mr. Browne’s Pool, Golf Course, Mansion, Personal residence, taxes, water, everything. And, we still pay to use what we finance.

Fairways are in terrible shape but most of the greens were in descent shape

Greens were pretty good. Rest of the course looked liked a WW1 battlefield in France. No words could describe. No apparent effort to improve conditions. We literally could not find balls in the middle of the fairway. Plus they said it was 90 degree rule. What a joke. The cart paths were as rough as the fairways. Rakes in bunkers but no sand. I’m not kidding. Not a bad layout but looking for balls (some of it our fault) added at least an hour. I was exhausted.

Lots of bare spots in every fairway, and bunkers are non-existent. Similar conditions as the last few years. However, other than a few bare spots on the edges of the greens, the greens were fantastic. Bare spots on the greens didn't come into play for our group, and we just payed preferred lies through the green. Greens were very fast and smooth outside of the few trouble areas. Maybe one day we'll get the Colovista of the early 2000's, but it'll take serious investment.

Just not in good shape, front nine worse than the back & no real signs of them working on. Sand traps all over meaning fairways & greens terrible. Shame fun layout, see pic of par 3. Do not know it for sure but am told better shape than Pine Forest so it has that going for it…which is nice 3/14 return visit, they are working on the place some. New sod in front of 2 green and the greens were much better. Traps are still skanky but $30 green fee at 4pm is a good bang for the buck.

Had a tee time booked. Showed up 30 mins before and they said they had a tournament going on and wouldn’t be done for an hour but to go hit some balls on the range and come back. So I go hit for an hour and come back and they say the tournament is still going on but I can chance it. I tell the guy I’ll do 9 holes instead and he charges me then tells me to grab any cart behind him. I go check them & they are all dirty and used from the tournament and out of gas. I check 4 carts and they are all on or close to empty. I go tell the guy and he doesn’t turn around or stop looking at Facebook on his phone and says just keep looking. Another employee comes out and says to just look under the seat. At this point I ask for a refund and decide I’m done with this experience. While he’s pulling a cigarette out he rolls his eyes and says I’ll need to walk all the way around the clubhouse back to the front desk. So I do. I get refunded and the original guy (who was kind and trying to help) comes out and apologizes while the other one is still on his phone and the “manager” just walks out. The course looked like it was in terrible shape but I never even got there. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. It’s not a price issue, it’s a people one.

Front 9 fairways were a tiger stripe of dirt and dry grass. Greens were spongy and scattered with dirt craters. Back 9 was better, but still very poor conditions.
