Colo's Southern Cafe

Every time I visit they never have sides and there is always a long wait to place your order and get your food. I’ve been on 3 differs occasions now and each time no collards or Mac n cheese. I just walked out probably won’t be back. I used to love going here when they first opened.

Fantastic!! The food was fresh, served hot and so tasty. We shared between us the catfish, shrimp & sticky fried ribs. Everything was delicious. The yams literally melt in your mouth. My sister had the greens & she said they were seasoned perfectly. We both agreed the gravy on the rice was a little spicy but my bro 'n law loved it. This is now my go to spot in Sacramento. Parking: Not many spaces available for parking on the side streets.

Awesome place, but make sure you come early because Colo's always sale out.

The food, the service, the vibes were everything in this place. Food took a reasonable time, the oxtail was falling off the bone, even the chicken and waffles!! The servers are very friendly and it feels like home The setting is chill and everything about this place is amazingg. We had help from 2 servers, Ryneisha i believe, very friendly and checked up on us and Quacey who refilled our drinks and offered us cards and was very friendly. Felt very very full when I left and the sleep is gonna be goooodddd Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to get in.

Absolutely the BEST food, wonderful service

First I want to say colos is located where Frenchies used to be. My mother used to work at Frenchies in the 90s so it's great to see the building being used. Right away as soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted with smiles and a loving atmosphere. The host walked me to the counter to order my food. She was very detailed in showing me the menu. The food was amazing. I've found my new soul food spot. Check them out!

Maybe I came on the wrong day! The catfish taste dirty, the fried chicken didn't have a lick of seasoning. I tried to return the food and was told there was a $10 restocking fee.... anyway the atmosphere was fantastic, music and service were top of the line. #everydeservesasecondchance

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night and let me tell you the food was absolutely amazing!! We licked our plates clean!! The service and atmosphere was also so welcoming and inviting, definitely will be coming back!!
