Colonia Verde

Hello fellow restauranteur, this review is about to dive into the reasons I have to believe that Colonia Verde is a caliber above all else. Yes, that’s right. Bold statement alert: best restaurant in Brooklyn? I think yes. Slay-standing service, molecular energy, rustic atmosphere (vibe) inviting romance, all traits they have, yet aren’t what’s important here. What’s important is the perfectly thought out the menu, cohesive flavors and flawless execution from the chefs. Thank you for the premier experience. Rock On

Food, service, vibe always on point for all meals

Shrimp tacos! They were a lot larger than we expected but so glad there was more to share. Shrimp perfectly cooked and tender, melt in your mouth. Perfect savory, pureed black bean sauce and fresh avocado. We also got the breakfast arepa which I thought was ok, but my partner really liked it. Arepa was not too thick or dense, fried runny egg with fresh pepper and cilantro. We were pretty full but got the donut churros and didn’t regret - slightly crispy outside but so soft and airy inside, tasted like churros but really a perfect light donut and chocolate sauce on the side. Sat by the bar since we didn’t have reservations for weekend brunch but it worked out well, friendly chill service. Service is on the slower side but no complaints. They have a very solid bar, didn’t get any drinks this morning but I’d definitely come back for dinner. Interesting things like Coconut Cartel rum in their stash ;)

Really friendly staff and atmosphere although it was so dark, I had to use my torch to read the menu and see my food once it arrived. Couldn't fault the service and our whole party found the food outstanding. Wheelchair accessibility: I use a wheelchair and this venue is not accessible. It was worth the effort to get in without it.

The quality and preparation of the food is consistently amazing. The menu is unique, includes lots of grilled options. Even the brunch menu contains many options besides the usual eggs. The ambience is great inside and in the backyard.

Had a really nice time here. We were seated quickly out back. We weren’t sure if it was going to be packed because of the time. But to our surprise it wasn’t. Food and drinks were amazing! Can’t wait to return
