The food is great. Service, not so much. I put my name on the list for a party of 4 and 2 other NON-RESERVATION parties of the same size were seated before us. The new red/brown haired girl taking names out front (no eye contact) forgot about us and I had to remind her 3 times that were were still outside waiting in the heat and 2 other parties were seated before us. She said they were going in order but that’s untrue. I watched the others request a table after us as walk ins. The water given to us at the table was warm and had things floating in it. The glasses smelled like raw eggs, and I had to ask for clean silverware at the table. Once we were seated things were fine food wise. She told us about the added gratuity which was fine. I just wish they deserved it because I felt like second class citizens in their restaurant. I won’t be recommending this spot to any other of my black friends because based on my experience, I don’t believe they’ll be served well.
Fried chicken Brussel sprouts yeah
Terrible menu. Honestly I did like the grilled peach bread. But the full southern breakfast is honestly not very seasoned. The grits has cream and sugar so if you want savory grits that option is out. The grits also needed to be cooked longer. The ham they cook is very dry terrible. They cooked eggs over easy. But it was a bit overcooked. And no one added any salt to that hard egg. They also cooked hard scrambled eggs instead of the soft scrambled eggs requested. we might have been able to swap the ham out for bacon but it was no where on the menu atleast not clear. The chicken and waffles. The chicken had the hardest batter as it was over fried. I didn't finish my food there. Because I was truly found the food without flavor. I didn't care for the waiter we had. As he didn't get the order right. And had to ask him for the same thing so many times. Everything took extremely long just for the waiter to come to our table. And watching three full tables come in after us and get there food. It was terrible. To sit for 35mins before our drink gets to the table and be poured hot water. When there apparently was cold water that could be provided. It took 15mins before our waiter showed to even ask about drinks. This truly was a bad experience. Especially for the price paid. It was not worth it. The entire table agreed we will not come back.
Fried chicken was great and the chocolate chip cookie.
Great service and food. Kid friendly is a bonus
I really enjoyed this restaurant. The service, food and its presentation were top notch. I will go back the next time I am in Austin
