Our first time dinning at Cole's Public House. We were disappointed. Over priced and small portions. I ordered the short rib mac n cheese at $26.00. Menu didn't say shredded pork over mac n cheese. VERY little pork and small portion. Also my Somer Ale beer came in a five ounce brandy glass. lol We read the reviews before going and were looking forward to an enjoyable evening. Needless to say we won't be going back.
Visited on Valentine's Day. Staff is very friendly! Everyone from the hostesses to the wait staff to the bussers was friendly and cheerful. The food is excellent! The menu is diverse without being overwhelming and there is a decent variety of price points. Good selection of appetizers or small plates to share as well. The wine and drink menu is also a treat for those looking for something special or unique. We had burgers, both were cooked and seasoned nicely. The French onion soup was delicious as well. Definitely worth coming back for! The atmosphere is a unique mix of bar and sophisticated restaurant. Gastro pub is a good classification for Cole's. The interior is like a maze. We ate in the back dinning room but to get there requires a few twists and turns that give you a unique glimpse of the operation. There is a bar up front and another in the back and plenty of TV's. Definitely worth checking out. The atmosphere, food, and staff will make this a regular stop for a good meal or a relaxing happy hour! Parking: Can be difficult to find close parking during busy times. On street parking or parking in the public lot behind the theater.
Dinner a couple days before Christmas. Noisy initially, hard to talk. But in a good way.
We live in Amherst and love dining here, sometimes every week. The food is amazing and atmosphere is great for whole family. Highly recommend!
Excellent food here. I jumped on the chance to have the elk chop. It was fantastic! My wife had the Apple and Brie burger, which I thankfully was able to finish for her. Her fries were also really good. Good atmosphere and friendly service. I'll be back.
Food is good, but the multiple TVs tappers down the atmosphere.
Best place to eat in Amherst. I hope quality is maintained and doesn’t continue to dwindle.
