Colao's Ristorante

Incredible atmosphere with great food and service to go with it. Ben was one of the friendliest and most attentive waiters I’ve ever had. Cocktails were also amazing (would highly recommend the pear martini). We will most definitely be coming back the next time we are in town!

We had visited Calaos periodically over the past few years and always had a pleasant experience, but we recently took a group of friends there for dinner. We arrived early to have a few cocktails, the bartender was lovely and made good drinks, which was shown by the 30% tip we left. We had asked about the customary tradition of getting the bottle top when a customer finishes a certain type of bourbon and the bartender had us ask the manager directly. He told us no, he had other plans for it. My husband wrote on the bill (sizable) that he was dissappointed about this. Then as we were being seated, the manager/owner (not sure) came up and said that we were to leave immediately, they did not want our business. I have never been treated in such rude manner and we are not the kind of people to make a scene and ruin other diners evening. But ours certainly was, but reading other peoples reviews it seems that the negative issue with Calaos is how management treats customers, not staff. And to top it off, as we were walking out one of the workers made a comment about my friend "look at that one she can't even walk". Like she was intoxicated, to which I informed her that my friend has MS and does have trouble walking! We, nor any of our friends will ever return to this restaurant!

Celebrated our 44 anniversary with a short trip to Erie for Dinner and a Movie and some shopping the next day. Found Colao's about 2 years ago, and loved it then, still do. Staff is warm and friendly, food is fabulous, atmosphere is perfect for an Italian Ristorante, and prices are very reasonable. When we thought of Dinner and a movie in Erie, Colao's was the first restaurant of which we thought.

I lived in Erie for 7 years and somehow never managed to visit this place. It was amazing! Our server was fantastic and attentive, the drink was delicious, the eggplant parm was the best I’ve ever had and overall had a really great time. Can’t wait to go back!

Came here for a night out with friends. We had the best time and delicious food. Ben was our server and he was extremely friendly and even took time to go through the menu for us. We will definitely be returning.

Had a great meal and service last night at Colao's however we were surprised to be charged a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. According to a Forbe's article, businesses that charge a fee are supposed to post a sign that clearly discloses fees prior to the transaction. It was printed on the receipt but my brother who paid the bill said the 3% was added to the bill before Colao's knew he was using a card. I understand the cost of owning a business is increasing but customers deserve honesty and transparency. Below the sign in your entryway which lists your specials you should disclose that fee.

First time dining here. We will be back! Fabulous food and service. A gem from Italy in Erie.
