Club Soda

My wife and I went Club Soda first time. One of worst experience in fort wayne restaurant we have ever had! We reserved table 5 days ahead. Lady front desk set us at downstair table near end corner. There was no one downstairs. Then we heard live music crossed the wall. I asked to change table. A different waiter was rude told us to wait (a while). Finally, we were taken to upstairs. We passed live piano playing. There was not packed. Upstairs was not packed neither. The staffs( downstairs) were rude because we were minority? They did not ask us any seat preference! Afterward, food was not impressive. Compared with other similar restaurants, it was below standard.

This was my first time here. I was excited to visit. When you walk in, you definitely feel as if your going to have a good experience. Well... Gouda Dip was pretty! We attended a pre-planned reservation. However taste bland and served cold, our server was Kathy was pretty much a "one and done" type server. And what I mean by that is she would take one order and would NOT RETURN for almost 20-30 minutes at a time which is very unusual because they weren't very busy! We could see her assisting another party that walked in, get their drinks( alcohol and non )and even appetizers(begins as they call it) Kathy NEGLECTED our table! After waiting now an hour and 9 mins for NY Strip & Mashed potatoes. I went up to the front desk to actually retrieve my check only find that our food was waiting on a round table to be served to us with another waitress asking" why isn't this gone yet". When paying for my check I saw a gratuity which is acceptable if the services rendered was deserved. As I was walking back with paid receipt in hand, food was being served our guest were asking for to go boxes their food. Some sent back due to improper cook/temperature- food cold. We sat and concersated once more till eveyone else got what they needed. What was really appalling was some guests received gratuity some did not!! We all had checks 50.00+. I'm a disappointed and I expected to receive a totally different experience I'm really hoping this was an isolated incident. I have a feeling they way WE were treated tells me otherwise. Nice place. Horrible service, good drinks, OK food nothing to rave about.

Very expensive. The food was excellent. They had live music while we were there. 3 floors, the restroom for the second floor is on the 3rd floor. Parking: Parking sucked due to construction. Roads were blocked. Total madhouse. Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs. They do have an antique service elevator, but someone has to operate it for you. It was full of junk and cardboard on the 3rd floor while we were there. This obviously came from the kitchen and was being used as storage for this stuff, probably until the end of the night. I don't think they plan on many handicapped people using it. The seating was very tight just to walk through. It would be difficult with a wheelchair on the second floor. Possibly, the first floor may have had some extra room, but it didn't seem like it did. Except for the main walkways, it was cramped for a large man to walk between tables. A wheelchair would have been nearly impossible.

Club Soda is a downtown staple. The cocktails and Smoked Gouda Dip never disappoint. The atmosphere is cozy and unique while the piano/jazz music on the weekends is quite the magical touch. The staff is wonderful and the food is always delicious. Parking: Side street parking.
