Went in for breakfast on Saturday 2/17. Waitress was behind the counter and gentleman setting at the bar (later we would realize this was the cook). Door is unlocked, sign out front says open 24 hours. Walk in say good morning both glare at us. I asked if it mattered where we sat. Man mutters something we don’t hear, rolls his eyes at us and says something to the waitress. She immediately tells us they are not open. We apologize turn around and start to walk out. At this point man mutters something again and she says no we can stay. We should have left…that was the best part of our visit. Cook proceeds to complain and throw things from behind the bar. Including bread and egg shells on the floor. Complaining about constantly getting called in when he is suppose to be off. Finally starts cooking and they bring my husband’s food, no refill to coffee, both set behind the bar ignoring us. Husband is nearly done when waitress drops off my breakfast. Literally like 20 minutes later. Totally cold and the pork chop couldn’t be cut even with a steak knife. Maybe it was just a bad day for both of them but defiantly won’t stop in there again on our next trip.
What a great little find! Food was excellent and very reasonable. Staff was very friendly and informative. We will be back!
This reminded me of a place I tried to remind remind myself never to go again.
I visited Clover Grill on a Saturday night, looking for a late-night bite before exploring the French Quarter. Unfortunately I was greeted by a not so friendly staff and a gloomy atmosphere, but the hubcap grill was sizzling with burgers. The menu does not have a variety of options, but you should find something for you. The service was not that great I waited for 5 minutes for a menu, this was long considering there were only 8-9 people. I asked what they recommend and the sandwich that was recommended was dry and had no sides to it. When I saw how juice the hamburgers were, I knew I made a mistake.
Great food, fun atmosphere, a very hometown American diner type of vibe. I got breakfast here, and I loved it. Would definitely eat here again!
We frequent Clover Grill for late night deliciousness. The chef is efficient and precise, the waiter/host (really nice dude with fun face ink) is very nice and friendly to everyone, and our orders are always perfect. Best late night spot in the quarter, hands down.
A nice diner experience. Good burger and tots. Owner was friendly.
One of the best burgers in New Orleans . Highly suggest the breakfast burger
