The food use to be so delicious and now it's ok. The only thing great about this particular location was they still offer the clam chowder in a bread bowl which is my favorite. The steak dinner I got was tough and bland but my clam chowder was great! Also disliked they removed the caramel apple cheesecake. That was one of their best deserts
It's been quite a while since I've been to a Claim Jumper, and I was a bit disappointed to find out what I did. Evidently, the owner sold off almost the entire chain, and now they're called something slightly different like Claim Jumper Steakhouse, where it never used to be called Claim Jumper Steakhouse before. The owner only kept two big money-making places like Vegas that are open 24 hours a day. Another disturbing thing is on every page of the menu and I wish I would have photographed it, they're now adding a 3% surcharge to every ticket in order to maintain the good food and quality service and yada yada yada. To me, that's a slap in the face. I would rather see the prices increase which they already were, but I'd rather see that a little bit more than have to pay another service charge on top of the high prices I'm already paying. To me, that just doesn't sit right. Anyway, the food was good, but I won't be coming back for a while, if ever. My husband had the chicken pot pie it was amazing and so filling that he brought half of it home, I had an Asian salad, and it was also good. I might suggest asking for the dressing on the side because the bottom had so much dressing that I couldn't eat the lettuce anymore. Also, back in the day, when I used to frequent them often, I used to love the salad bar with your meal. Now, the salad bar is separate. It's about $15 or $16 all on its own.
Kate was our server tonight and she was exceptional. Sunday night football and happy hour is why the saloon was so crowded but she was not phased. Kate has a wonderful personality and did an amazing job checking in every few minutes to see if there was anything else we needed. She was very attentive, she kept our our drinks full, all while managing to provide the same quality service to several other large parties.
