I saw Puddles Pity Party there in November, and had a seat right against the stage. This was by far the most uncomfortable venue I've ever been in. The tables are turned sideways to the stage and the chairs are tightly packed in, so unless you're on the end of the stage where you have a full veiw of it or are further back, you often have to crane your neck around backwards to see the act.
First time here for a show. Acoustics were great. Seating was tight, we were jammed in like sardines. Going to the restroom caused the entire table to have to get up as well as the adjacent table. Had the lobster risotto. Flavor was fantastic, but the risotto was under cooked and crunchy rather than creamy. Our server Jarrod, was amazing - kudos there. Over all, we had a great time and would definitely come back for future shows.
Nice venue to watch a concert but eat before you go. $150 for 4 drinks, 2 sliders, and fries?
Show was GREAT. Food and drinks were GREAT. I wasn't prepared for how tight the tables near the stage were; I paid more for a seat that meant that I needed a chiropractor after the concert. Given where I was in relation to the stage, I had to turn about 115 degrees to see the performers; by the intermissions, I had a tight cramp in my neck and a tightness in my lower back. Haaving not been there before, I did not forsee this issue. If we go back to City Winery, I will choose a seat that is lower tier, but one that won't sent me to physical therapy the next day.
Location is very convenient to T. Staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and attentive. Food portions could be larger and timing in the kitchen had large gaps between items being served to my table of 4. The comedy was good, overall everything was good, but there is room for improvement. I might have given 4.5 stars if that was an option, but all 4 of us had a very nice evening, so I gave 5 stars.
My first experience at City Winery but won’t be the last. Enter the Haggis gave a great performance. I’m looking forward to returning for a wine tasting.
