BBQ test to me is what does the meat taste like without sauce is number 1, number 2 is what does the meat taste like a day later. My 3rd test is the bbq sauce. Unfortunately test one proved there was no seasoning on the meat, very little smoke taste. Test 2 i bought ribs on Sunday and i saved some for later and i ate the rest on Tuesday and the taste did not improve. Test 3 the sauce to me was too sweet. First time having city bbq and was not impressed....
Got the brisket and sausage, with sides of green beans and potato salad. The brisket was okay, a little drier than previous visits. The sausage was good, and the potato salad was okay. I love green beans cooked until mushy, so theirs was perfect for me.
Went about a hour and 15 minutes before the time to close. They were out of ribs. The cashier tell me it’s because they close in about 1 hour. I reply that I understand that but they also should have known 2 hours ago they were low on ribs . She say I don’t think so and I say I know so. She leaves the cash register and doesn’t come back to it. The manager comes and says that he will talk to her but he never does at the moment so it a good chance that he never talked to her and didn’t care about his incompetent employee. With that I will never go there again or ever use them for all of our pot licks at work. Keep up the good work City bbq.
I got 3 sides, 2 small peach cob and jug ofvtea for $54! (NOT ONE ENTREE.. and it was $54!!). The Mac was dry and tasteless, the cobbler tasted like it was cooked in a dirty brisket pan - NEVER AGAIN!
I had the brisket sandwich very good
Always a friendly environment
