This cafe is definitely under new management and the food and service is horrible, not that the previous management was any better... they usually falsely advertise things that they never have... the worse event is the food poisoning I recently obtained after eating their chicken cilantro chili soup and I am not the only person that has complained about food poisoning after eating at this location. The citra cafe in chestnut hill location needs to be shut down and BWH needs to review the service and food care in this location, the hardworking staff and patients deserve better than this. The BWH needs to replace this cafe with a Panera Bread like the main hospital currently has or just open a cafeteria that works with the cafeteria at the main with prepackaged food from the main hospital. This cafe does not reflect good on the BWH substitution.
Food allergies? Forget it. I don’t know if this cafe is under new management, but the customer service is not good now. With the exception of salads, there were No gluten free options. For people with this allergy, this is the frequent the option when the restaurant has made no effort to provide options for people with allergies. When I asked why there was no longer a gluten free bread option, they barely acknowledged my question. Finally, they told me the manager removed the bread as an option because of the demand. However, the restaurant never had the option posted on the menu. Unless someone asks for alternative option they would not know of the gluten free option. Moving on the a better restaurant.
Pros: Everything on the southwest chicken sandwich panini was good. Cons: It took them an hour and 15 minutes to deliver a sandwich and a salad. No grapes in the California chicken salad as described. Salad itself was not very good. Chicken was partially frozen and lettuce was in fairly poor condition. Ordered two vitamin waters and one of them was zero sugar No roast beef when I originally wanted the roast beef and cheddar panini
