Great Tex-Mex

This is the original location, on Barton Springs. Showing its age in some places, but the food is still top-notch --not the run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex that we have more than enough of. I particularly appreciate their veggie enchiladas. Most Tex-Mex restaurants now have spinach enchiladas, but most places don't really put much thought or effort into making them good. Chuy's makes 'em special--and doesn't charge any more than the places that make 'em ordinary. Drinks seem overpriced to me, but then they seem overpriced everywhere; I guess that's how restaurants make their money. My wife ordered a chicken salad, and the chicken was really good--smoky and tender, but not mushy. Veggies were fresh and tasty.

Terrible management. Waited over an hour from what was originally quoted while tables and chairs sat open. Not just our party other groups as well. With no effort to make good or apology from the management staff. It was unfortunate that the experience started so badly from the get go.
