It's worth trying their famous roasted prime rib. For dessert, you really must order the baked Alaska.

We were totally disappointed, since it used to be one…if not our favorite restaurant. The welcome aboard fresh oven baked bread and Caesar Salad are gone (salad available by special order) and the overall atmosphere is different in a bad way. The professional waiters are a distant memory, and so is the quality of the food. The people that still attend seem to be there out of nostalgia, yet it’s decadence is obvious. The prices are out of control and do not measure up to the mediocre quality of the food and service. Even the Baked Alaska has suffered. Restaurants in Coral Gables appear to be having an existential crisis. Remember Charade, Whifenpoof, Justa Pasta, and so many good restaurants.

Parking: Get there early so you can have 10 minutes or more to find parking within walking distance

Light dinner and wine. No waiting on a Friday evening was a pleasant surprise. We did sit at the bar area and were moved to a larger table because they wanted us to have enough room for the food. I believe there was Light music in the background and very intimate feeling as we enjoyed our wine. Service was spot on. Great evening discussing the holiday, ending of the year and launching into the year to come.

Sometimes, an old and established restaurant deserves kudos for its longevity, which often as here implies a strong ability to maintain generations of clientele. A recent interior facelift adds a great vibe.
