China Mama - Shanghai Plaza

We walked in and requested a party of 5. You can sign up on the waiting list and they will text you when your table is ready. We were told 32-44 minutes. After waiting 50 minutes one of our party went to a person who seemed in charge and let them know we had a child who was hungry. There was an empty table and asked if we could sit there. They originally said no. Stating the table could only seat 4 people. It was a large corner oblong table that could clearly seat more than 4. Within 5 minutes we were at that table. So worth the wait. Everyone in our group agreed we had the best green beans any of us had ever tasted. Walnut shrimp was delicious also. We tried 5 entrees and each one was wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the buns as the waiter let us know they had 1 person making them and it would be a 45 minute wait. We will definitely be back but will find a time when they are not so busy. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures. Next time I go I will. Kid-friendliness: We had a party of 6 with 2 children ages 6 and 2. Be prepared to wait for a table and have something to entertain them while you wait.

China Mama Express consistently impresses with their savory dishes, from the fried beef to the special pork bun, fried rice, and various soups. My absolute favorite is the dandan noodles, a must-try that keeps me coming back for more.

The owner is one of my clients and I usually bring out-of-States my friends for authentic Chinese food here. Delicious food with a mixed style of Chinese cuisine. The servers are quite attentive. The owner imported the bone China dishes in container and they’re quite durable and nice to use. My local friends often come here just for the beef noodle, and I personally like it very much too! Suggested classic dishes: Mapo Tofu and Marinated Vegetable Fish Fillet… the stir fried greens beans dish is really good taste as well. There’s a saying that goes: The most difficult thing in the world is to cook simple dishes with delicious taste. Voila, it definitely applies here… You wouldn’t regret trying out this Chinese restaurant in Vegas! Parking: During rush hours it would be really difficult to find parking in the Shanghai plaza. Just go to the Pioneer Avenue beside the plaza and find free street parking will save you time…

I love this place. Every single dish is made fresh. They do get extremely busy but that's what happens when you serve amazing food! I come from Los Angeles and always make sure I eat here twice every visit! Great prices also for their food. My favorite plates are the Kung Pao Chicken, dumplings in chili sauce, chow mein, Dan Dan noodles.

Went on a weekend, so it was busy. Waited about 30 minutes, which was average. The atmosphere was nice, almost like a fine dining type restaurant but with a causal feeling. Service was fast once we were seated. There are lots of selections, so we ordered quite a bit for only 2 of us. Everything was delicious. I'd recommend the fried green beans to start atleas, very delicious. Noodles were fresh, and they could really taste the freshness. Felt like price was a bit high, but everything was fresh and delicious. The only thing that bothered me was that my water wasn't filled frequently, but I understand that they were busy. The server was really polite, though. Will be back again to try the buns and the crispy beef. Id also go early cause parking can be hectic in that area.

This place was busy. They give you generous portions to share, compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the vicinity. I'll be back.

I absolutely Love China Mama. I wanna try everything on their menu. So far everything I've tried except the duck was phenomenal. Crispy Beef, eggplant, Mongolian beef, Chow mean, pork buns, combination fried rice. China Mama is my favorite restaurant period.

I really don't understand China Mama (original location), Express and this new China Mama location. Not for us. But doesn't mean it's not for you. Maybe because I grew up from the 626 SGV Chinese community of food? Local Vegas has limited mainstream Chinese food for Chinese stomachs. We were the only Chinese family on a Sunday night for dinner...Everyone else looked like tourist (vacation mode), and seemed easy to please. When reviewers are yelping about orange chicken, to sweet and sour pork... That should have told us enough. Food was not for us. Our soup came during the middle of dinner when it's supposed to come first (for canto food), with the pork hock coming out when we were almost completed with dinner. Maybe only the string beans were okay. Maybe this is just one of many places where ppl from the Midwest or further could feel like they are eating what they think is authentic Chinese food? Again, could be great for others but definitely not for me. I tried all 3 locations now and I'm just really confused. Staff were nice. You can add yourself to the yelp wait-list. Parking in this plaza is difficult. I'm not sure how development on a plaza this size was allowed to only have such little amount of parking spaces. It's very difficult to find parking even for handicap. If it looks crowded, I highly recommend street parking. If you drive in, you may be stuck waiting on trying to just get out.
