CHINA BUFFET

This place used to definitely be my favorite place to eat Chinese food at a buffet in Jacksonville however it has been 7 to 8 years since I ate there until a week ago during my visit literally everything empty regular chicken wings dry no fried sushi non combine that with my 8-months pregnant niece and a waitress that doesn't speak any English .. adding that aggravation I really wanted to walk out I miss those dine and dash days . #JP but seriously if anyone visits and it's someone let me know until then I'm sticking to a 2star

We tried out this China Buffet because a relative told us the food was delicious and hot! Unfortunately the food was generally standard and...slightly warm? I think the food would be generally average for a Chinese buffet if the temperature was warmer. But I couldn't shake that the food was slightly warmed, it was very surprising! Almost everything was only slightly warmed, egg rolls, rangoons, lo mein (cold by the time I sat down), broccoli beef/chicken, another sauced chicken dish, imitation crab. The crawfish were more warm, but cooled quickly and the hot and sour soup was at a more acceptable level. I feel like I've proofed yeast at warmer temperatures. I'm not sure if the warmers were broken, but when the broccoli beef/chicken were replenished, it was barely warmer (hardly noticable).

Not a good experience at all. My friend and her daughter to came to have lunch for Valentine’s Day. First off all we smelled was Fabuloso… My food was on the cold side but thought ok maybe it was me taking to long, so ate some of it anyways. My friend however had a bite of a spring roll and hid something hard so she spit it out. Found out we thought was eggshell but when I looked it over looked like more bone. So asked the server and he didn’t know either took it all away pretty fast, still never said what it might have been, took her meal off, I barely ate that. But we still paid 35 bucks. Go to pay and on the far wall we see cough meds bug spray, too much stuff that one would think isn’t ok to be seen by all. So can’t say I will ever go back. Friend definitely will not go back. Yes issue was handled in a way by not making her pay but wow.

Thankfully my young child did not eat the spring roll on her plate. Instead gave it to me. When I ate it there was a crunch like a shell was in it. After spitting it out and ripping apart the rest of the spring roll there were more hard bits in it. The manager apologized and said he told the kitchen staff to be more careful. Be never answered what it was. He removed the price of my buffet. I still paid for my child's even though she didn't eat anything either. That was my first time back in 10 yrs (just moved back to the city) and it is definitely the last.

The only thing resembling good here was all the patrons seemed to be in good spirits. As for the food omg where do I start. As many of you that follow my reviews it's not easy to get a bad review from me the proverbial BUT #1 the place was disgustingly filthy the walla, the tables, the advertisement placards at the tables just completely filthy. I don't mean hustle and bustle Buffet dirty but some of this as you can see in the pictures (even worse if you zoom in on them) was nasty filthy been there for days and weeks type filthy. Now every single item you see on my plates I tried. The chow mein I could cook better half blind, using a trash can lid and a blow torch for a wok. The smaller thinner noodles were sticky and pasty, every type of fish I tried was super bland and so watered down and over cooked you could barely taste fish flavor and this included the shrimp and crab. Like how do you get crab wrong (they figured out a way). Every type of chicken was dry and overcooked to where some might as well have been early stages of jerky. The sushi was not very flavorful (I tried every type) and the batter dipped fried sushi had zero flavor but 100% greasy. The raw tuna fish was tolerable. The kimshi was barely passable but how do you get rotten cabbage wrong lol. The Wasabi was out too long, dry and crusty. I mean as filthy as the place was considering they deal with so much Raw fish I'm very surprised a state health inspector doesn't shut them down for I don't know how many health code violations. The waitress pretended to be folding napkins but played on her cell phone most the time and acted upset I asked for a tea refill 20 minutes in. As a tourist knowing Jacksonville is on the Ocean their seafood should have been on point or at least up to par. Even the ribs were overly dry and under flavored. The bathroom was a pig sti. The Ice cream and desert area was so very filthy I just tried to get pictures of the filth and bypassed the desert this trip. I for sure would Google search ANY other Buffet in the area and go there before this one. Just sad and disappointed people don't put more care into their work ethic top to bottom in this Buffet. From hiring and firing the slothful employees, to the cooks and the people that are supposed to clean the place. The waitress/host should be inviting, welcoming, and attentive but none of this happened here. Vegetarian options: I'd not risk eating from such a filthy place and the foods super sub par and watered down or overcooked and too dry.
