Chez Bruce

Last time I went here we were rudely asked to order pudding or go without and the told we were unable to take leftovers home, something Chez Bruce staff have previously offered without prompting. A once generous and relaxing restaurant is now more interested in table turnover. Shame, used to be good.

This is our absolute favourite restaurant for a reason. The miso aubergine starter with puffed rice is one of the best dishes I've ever had and I've been lucky enough to have this dish twice now. The steak (Chateaubriand) is incredible. Melts in your mouth. The desserts are good but don't quite live up to the hype of the other courses but it's still an absolute gem of a restaurant and we will always return to celebrate a special occasion when we can!

Always excellent. The staff often remember you if you have been before. Incredible wine list. Not at all stuffy - staff are individuals. Vegetarian options: There's always at least one veggie option on the menu. Even if there's only one, it's always good.

There arent many restaurants that i have no trouble consistently giving 5 stars across the board and Chez Bruce is definately one. A wonderful restaurant for any occasion. It is recomended to book well in advance as they are usually very busy for good reason. The good food is accompanied by a comprehensive wine list and other alcoholic digestives, so leave the car at home and use a taxi to really enjoy the experience and not worry about parking. wonderful evening enjoying good food and good company in a good atmosphere and finally no one had anything strange on their face. So good to see Chez Bruce back to full capacity. Excellent food and service with a good atmosphere created by a happy clientel. There is absolutely nothing you could fault about Chez Bruce. The whole dining experience is impeccable. The service is so friendly, the food is an exploration of flavours that will really spoil you and for those that enjoy a nice drink the drink list is really something else. Bon appetite Parking: Free street parking after 4.30pm and you will usually find a space in the side streets or get a taxi and enjoy the extensive drinks list.
