The soup was just chicken curry and briyani was having old meat. Totally disappointed with Chennai Buhari

Used to be my favorite restaurant, but not anymore. Ordered chicken kothu parotta [okayish, soggy and overcooked] , chili chicken[extremely oily , watery and tasted okay] and egg fried rice [extremely oily and had weird smell]. Ordered chicken chettinad curry - the only dish which was good. Restaurant food quality has gone down drastically! Totally disappointed.

Ordered takeout and the mutton biriyani was okish, but different flavors from the usual biriyans. With the thalicha it was better. Initially the portion seemed less, but I would say it's on par with the other biriyani places considering the price. The parotta kuruma was awesome. I wish the parotta was a little more fluffy, it was kind of thin but still good. The kuruma mostly had carrots and peas, guess that could add more veggies. The kuruma was boiling hot and in plastic which I did not like.

Ordered paneer and egg biryani. The biryani was disappointingly tasteless, stale, and had an unpleasant odor. I called the restaurant and reported it.

Don’t waste your money. I dined in on 20May2023 for lunch. We have ordered one plain dosa, chilli chicken and chicken biryani. Worst DOSA, CHUTNEY and SAMBAR I ever had in my life. Not eatable at all. I have posted the photos of the pastes given as chutney for dosa. We were hungry. So we had to eat it. My son couldn’t even eat it after the first bite. Unacceptable taste and quality. Chilli chicken was also poor. Poor taste. More watery. Less quantity. But at least eatable. Chicken biryani was below average. If you ask me where I had the worst food in Bay Area, I point to Chennai Bubari. Owner of this restaurant should either close this restaurant or hire a better cook. It is not ethical to make the people waste their money for this poor food. Most reviews in this page are old reviews. People still believing this old reviews and visiting this restaurant. One more thing. Please don’t spoil the name of chennai. Chenna biryani is one of the best biryanis in the world. Even roadside shops in chennai serve better taste.

(Latest) bought mutton biriyani recently. The biryani tasted good. I could see an improvement from last time . Rice was well cooked and not soggy. The brinjal curry alone was too watery and wasn’t the usual one. But other than that overall it was better than last time. Would definitely give few more tries here (5 months ago) worst chicken biriyani I ever had. I ordered for dinner and got something that tasted like white rice. I have ordered several times from Chennai buhari and this is the first time I’m getting something like this. Not sure if the cook changed but this is totally worthless!!! I hope the management looks into this issue (1 year ago) Ordered mutton kalyana biriyani. Taste was really good, not too spicy and not too oily. Worth it for the rate!!

Love their foods - mostly consistent, sometimes the spiciness is a bit off.

New find , one assumes that the Sunnyvale and Mountain View area is full of Indian restaurants. This one , almost a hole in the wall was special in terms of authenticity and flavour….Kaleeswaran who owns the place leads from front and offers a great service and an awesome kitchen !

Full size biryani is too less for the price. Other places have way better proportions. And the box wasn’t even full. Felt disappointed
