It's a posh uptown restaurant in a poorly lit shady surrounding. We had to wait 20+ minutes despite having a reservation, which reminded me of the Seinfeld reference. They serve complimentary fresh warm pita bread. Would recommend the mediterranean trio dip to go with it. We had big expectations on the Persian tea, but it just tasted like water and lacked flavour. The saffron rice in the kebab entrees feels very dry because it's lacking accompanying yogurt/sauce. The service overall was good and they also gave complimentary pieces of chocolate as dessert.

My girlfriend got free stones in her food. But since it’s free they didn’t charge us for the item. Didn’t enjoy the food, but the atmosphere was nice and service is good.

I have high expectations when it comes to food and they definitely exceeded our expectations. They literally have the best food, service, and ambiance. I've tries most of the Persian restaurants in bay area and chelokababy is by far the best.

We had bread, falafel and kashko bademjan for appetizer. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The bread was a great combination with the kashko bademjan. For the entree, we ordered Koobideh Morgh and it was amazing. The minced chicken was well seasoned, not very spicy and not very mild. The saffron rice complimented really well with the minced chicken kebabs. We had cream puffs for desert. We were a bit thrown away when the cream puffs were cold since we expected them to be a bit warm.

I recommend Chelo tea house for any small event you are thinking of hosting. We visited there for our family reunion last weekend. Maryam, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and took us to our table right away. The table was set with beautiful fine china with a cozy ambiance and elegant decor. After we chose our tea from the abundant selection served on a plate. The server brought hot water for us to brew our teas in individual tea pots provided for each person. We were served smoked salmon spread and small finger sandwiches. Based on our choices we were served different delicious foods. The mango shot was an amazing finish . The service was excellent. We were very happy to find this place for our event and can’t wait to utilize for our next family reunion. Parking: We had no problem finding parking. Kid-friendliness: I noticed families with children in the restaurant and they looked comfortable and happy.

Food was fine. But I won't ever be paying that much for decent hummus and pita again. Maybe the meat was better? But the vegetarian options were underwhelming in both availability and flavor. The best part of the dinner was the Bakalavah I had for dessert.

Came for a lunch with family. This round the food was delicious (last time with friends, the kebabs were over cooked/burnt). Barg Kebab and Joojah, Kobideh are their signature dishes, I believe and they do it well. We also tried the fesinjun , which was delicious. Ash Reshteh was nice and can be split for two. Our server Poya was nice, and polite. However the other welcoming host was somewhat cold and not welcoming. I think because they were busy and one man was doing multiple things. Overall, good experience and would come again.

Solid 2. The food was average but not great and certainly overpriced. I wouldn’t be back for this food. Service disappointing. We had to wait a long time before someone acknowledged us/led us to a table. I find that unacceptable especially at these prices. There were 4-5 servers who saw us standing there and didn’t made any effort to help. Decor was very well done.

Nice looking restaurant and friendly staff. We got different items from the menu to give it a try and all of them were about 8/10. I would definitely get chicken and beef kabobs. Lamb kebob i didn't like it nor I liked the soup. It had a lot of saffron. Without saffron is good if you want to get it. I liked everything except I was very shocked to see they only have 1 small bathroom that wasn't even clean properly. For such a big place, a small bathroom was interesting.
