Chef Tam's Underground Cafe

We were the only people in the building and our server forgot some of our food some items we still didn’t receive. She disappeared completely and didn’t return until the food came out and after we received our food still could not find her. No kids menu but did offer kid meal options. The music was great ! The food was “ok” it’s definitely not like the 2018 chefs tams when the location was in midtown. My yams were tuff! Lots of people told me they weren’t good anymore and I probably should’ve listened.

I'm not sure if I came in at a bad time (2pm) or if the place is just understaffed. The host, I guess she's the host, saw me standing alone, said something to other guests ahead of me and then walked off, she didn't greet me. As I stood there another woman who might have been a server because she had plates of food in her hands walked by, spoke to the guests who walked in after me & then proceeded to walk away. The host came back, walked the party that came in before me into the restaurant, sat them & them and then greeted me. The host was friendly so that helped a bit, though the restaurant was out of several things I wanted. If the food I ordered is good I'll revisit when it's less busy or on days they are likely to be fully staffed.

I went to Chef Tams with the party of five very optimistic and excited. However, we were met with a subpar atmosphere and mediocre cleanliness with a sticky floor and tables. There was only one server who was already dedicated to a large party and other guests We had a hour plus wait for our food, and we were met with a frown and rolling eyes when asking how much longer the food would be. I was originally looking forward to dessert but after the long wait and not so nice service, there was no time or interest in it. However, I will say the food was amazing when we got it, when everything ordered finally made it to the table. I urge Chef, Tam, and her leader ship to set some service standards for the waitstaff and the kitchen, to increase the ratings in the future

FIRST TIME PATRON, & LET ME FIRST STATE THAT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! We arrived at 5:52pm, we were told that it would be 1 hour before we could be seated, which was fine. The young lady took our name and phone number and was told that we had a party of 5. She stated that she would call us when it was time for us to be seated. I asked her would it be a problem getting food because she said it would be a hour and I know they closed in a hour. She stated if we put you on the list you will be seated and served. Well a hour goes by and no phone call. So my party goes inside and asked if we were going to be seated. The lazy body language waitress stated that she called me twice. I asked her to show me where she called and what time did she call. She grabbed the house phone and then told me that she didn’t know how to go back and check the call log but she did call. I then showed her my phone and shown her that I didn’t have any missed calls. She then proceeded to go get the manager who was supposed to show me in the call log where they had called me. The manager comes back with what seemed to be an attitude, so I explained we waited over an hour only for yall to say yall called me and yall didn’t. She said well if she said she called I’m sure she did, but we can only see the last 10 calls. Which was a lie, the manager proceeds to say I can seat you guys but we are out of ALL OF OUR SIDES, catfish and shrimp and grits. No Maam we good thanks. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND WONT BE BACK, AND TURN THAT DAMNNNN MUSIC DOWN SOME

First time trying , the food was fresh and had good flavoring. I ordered catfish and corn. The catfish needed more flavoring. It seemed bland by itself .

Waited 2hr to sit after being told 45 mins the host was terrible the food was warm up but still cold. Fish was fresh and that was the only thing. To wait that long and get disappointed was not cool I will not recommend no one and I came all the way from Chicago

I ate here tonight with a group of colleagues. We were told the wait was 45 minutes. The waiter was rude. They were out of half of the menu. We were not offered refills, giving paper forks, and told that they had no knives. Once the food came out it was decent at best. The bread on the burgers was soggy. Overall, the service at Chef Tam’s is terrible. The waiters are not attentive. They are not friendly, and definitely unprofessional. It’s quite sad that her legacy is being tainted by the people she employs.

We read the reviews after we were told it would be a 30 minute wait with no customers!! Unfortunately they are deserving of the low ranking. Three people out front one watching TV one watching a store selling cool aid and cast iron skillets the other one walking around helping out in the store. Every person after us were told 30 minutes?? We are talking catfish and shrimp!! You should seat your guest immediately have those three standing around doing nothing gets some drinks and some mf cornbread muffins or bread or something..The food probably is good but I didn't plan on making this a 3 hour tour!! We left!!
