Cheech's Poultry

One of the best places in Detroit to get all your meat and poultry. It’s right across from Eastern Market and there is free parking lot within 50 yards. The selection and quality of food are great. If you have questions and want to pursue the selection, avoid going on Saturdays because they are really busy!

New to Detroit and love this place. I go most Saturday and grab smoked meats, fresh chicken, and some fried wings for lunch. Always pleased -- the fried chicken is always a treat.

Always good quality meat when I wash at home is clean and always taste fresh worth the extra cost than frozen meat at market

I've been shopping at Central Meat Market since I was a kid so I'm familiar with Cheech's Poultry. So to say the least I definitely expected better service but the quality of their poultry was the main disappointment. I purchased 5lbs of small wings on the 17th.. Put them in the refrigerator because I wanted to cook them the next day. When I went to cook them on the 18th they were bad .. so I immediately threw them out. I wasn't going to call at first but the fact that it had been less than 24 hours concerned me. So when I called the next morning to inform them that they had sold me bad produce I was told that in order to get a refund (I had the receipt) that I had to bring the spoiled poultry back up there so he could have proof for his supplier.. When I told him that I threw it out he told me that there wasn't anything that he could do. Never again!!

I bought chicken here this past weekend and I cooked it and it was not quality meat. It was rubbery and gross and I could not even eat it. It was what is referred to as “woody” chicken. Yuck!

We get our Thanksgiving turkeys there every year!

My work ordered chicken kabobs from Cheech’s for our team lunch and they were so delicious! They were packed with flavor and were super tender, definitely a great place to get chicken for events. 10/10!

Amish poultry, I absolutely love this place
