One thing I love about cycling in LA is getting to experience little known neighborhoods that I probably would otherwise never know about. Case in point: Hermon. I’ve lived in LA my entire life, essentially, and have never heard of it. Hermon, as it turns out, is a super quaint little village wedged between Highland Park and South Pasadena. Charlie’s is right in the heart of Hermon. Charlie’s is a dark (really dark) roast only cafe, so the coffee is just not my favorite, but I am admittedly not a fan of dark roast coffees. The prices were quite high for the quality, which is kind of hard to justify when some of LA’s most iconic coffee shops are within walking distance next door in Highland Park.
Cold Brew tastes like chalk.
Very friendly and excellent service
Got two lattes and a pastry to go. The croissant tasted like France
It’s my second time stopping by when they say they are open and every time I drive by they are totally closed. No wonder why their reviews are going down… 11:30am on Wednesday
Great coffee, wonderful jalapeño bagels and a friendly staff. They also play great music inside. Thanks Julius for suggesting Bizarre Tribe. Made the drive a breeze.
