Chaat Bhavan - Sunnyvale

We ordered about 5 dishes. Only thali was good and Gobi Manchurian is avg. Everything else was below par

Very nice service and food. We loved malai kofta and sag roti. Fresh and delicious food.

We had a delicious feast after a long day here. The food was flavorful with the perfect amount of spice.

I had dabeli, vada pav, pani puri, sev batata puri, ragda patties and sev puri. All items were okayish, not like from India but radga patties wwas specifically very bad. The peas were not boiled properly and it was very dry and without any gravy. We told the same to the waiter, but they didn't bother to ask to remove that item from the final bill. They just said that they will give the feedback to the chef. I would not recommend eating here. Instead go to Johal Chat food truck at Sunnyvale, which is more authentic. Parking: You would be lucky if you find street parking space available.

This place used to be called Udipi - one of my 5⭐ south Indian restaurants from yesteryears. Chat Bhavan had lived up to the legacy of the location by serving excellent authentic desi fare! The choice of paratha, papdi chaat, pani poori, puri-bhaji, and a long list of Indian street food, can cause your salivary glands to go off in overdrive! Mine did. I plan to become a regular! Vegetarian options: It's all vegetarian!

To be honest, I have visited the restaurant many times to pick up orders for other people. I'm very sensitive to spicy food so I have not tried their menu. It does smell quite good when you walk in. All of the employees are friendly and helpful. You know what they say, If a restaurant with a specialized cuisine is mostly filled by people from or associated with that country, then the food must be good as well as authentic. If you have a craving for some vegetarian Indian cuisine, I would say this would be an excellent place to try, they do take out too!

They are handling business in the kitchen. My Dal Makhani was smooth and flavorful and I order this many Indian restaurants (Chaat probably best). My garlic naan was super fresh. I also tried Sambar Vada it was so comforting. OMG it’s accurately compared to a donut on the menu, sorta like cornbread, but better, dunked in vegetable stew. They don’t give basmati rice with all dishes. And it’s often hard to find parking because they’re always packed but it’s worth it.
