Celia's Méxican Restaurant

Delicious food, fast and friendly servers, and lots of choices on the menu in the best local Mexican restaurant IMHO. We've been doing takeout during the pandemic and it was nice to have the food served right from the kitchen again. We have been making this a weekly dinner visit again and they stay open a little later.

Love, love, love. I've been eating here for about 20 years and love that the servers recognize me. The salsa is perfectly picante, the shredded beef enchiladas delicious (although I always have to ask for light cheese). I also like their sopes (sopitos on the menu). The atmosphere takes me back to my childhood, with booths, great decor (especially at Xmas), and dim lighting.

Daly City location is far better, especially after a flight into SFO.

Oscar is awesome as always. Consistency and service is why it’s our favorite spot in San Rafael.

Have been here twice but the in-laws and wife have been frequenting Celia's for decades. While the service is excellent, the quality of the food is extremely lacking. For starters, the chips seemed old and were both chewy and hard to eat. American cheese was used on top of the refried beans and a so called chille rellano was unrecognizable as such as it was made with a chunk of jack cheese with 3 small slices of pepper wrapped in an egg tortilla? Atmosphere was nice as the restaurant was all decked out for the holidays. Overall, the food was like eating a tv dinner and we won't be going back.
