Read the bad reviews but we decided to find out for ourselves. 11:30 on a Sat morning. They were definitely open and not busy at all - looked like one couple eating in a booth and there were people working. We stood at the hostess stand for a very long time. Long enough that we looked around the dining area, talked about several items on the menu that sounded pretty good. Discussed if it was a mistake coming after all bad reviews about terrible service. Looked at the menu some more until we decided what we wanted. Waited longer... No one said a single word to us, made eye contact, or acknowledged that we were there. The bad reviews for service are all well deserved. I can't imagine who runs this place where they've had bad service reported for this many years. It has to be a front for something else or owned by the hotel manager's brother-in-law or something. One silver lining, though, was that since we were downtown we were close to Red Cow, which is where we would usually go for a burger. The service there is great! We only go once a month but the servers remember us and are warm and helpful. The burgers there are so good that I never try the brunch because I don't want to miss out. Do yourself a favor and check out Red Cow or even the Tap House downtown isn't too bad.
Food was delicious. Fries were crisp, the burger was so huge i could barely finish it, and the lava cake had me drooling . If I am in Rochester again I know where I am coming for food.
A blue moon 16 oz draft beer was 9$ so extremely pricey on the drinks
I can confirm that all the other 1 star reviews are true I was disappointed with the burgers and it's just straight up poor service
This was the worst dining experience we have ever had. This is the first time I’ve ever left a bad review. We stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening The waitress was working short, for which we didn’t have any problem showing patience. Her attitude was rotten though. When she did come to seat us she was clearly inconvenienced. It didn’t get any better. She took my half eaten food away while it was sitting directly in front of me, without asking if I was finished. She had left the bill early and went by once and flipped it open before we had placed payment. My husband was still eating his meal. My food was brought out way ahead of his. Even though we didn’t have any complaints about the food per se, we definitely left with a bad taste in our mouths.
Would not recommend, we should of looked at the reviews before we stopped in. Was greeted just fine, sat at a booth, she gave us water, that's it. They waited on everyone else but us. Do not go in there if you don't absolutely don't need to
What was I thinking, always read the reviews first! I was walking by, it was lunchtime, and the name of the restaurant sounded appealing (burgers and brews). There's nothing terribly wrong with this place, it is just mediocre overall. Sysco food? Yes I think it probably is. Bland tables and booths? Yep. At least the service was good. I ordered the chicken breast, diced potatoes, and broccoli trying to get a healthy option. They said they were all out. So I ordered the club sandwich and it was fresh but uninspiring. Also $9 for a Surly draft beer!? Whoah. There are so many better restaurants in the area you can go to.
