Cast Iron Waffles

Love this place. Been here a couple of times. Staff is very friendly and the ambience is welcoming. She even recommended few must visit places in Charlotte.

The slow berry waffle is our all time favorite!!!!

I had previously shared a 5 star review, but with this new morning lady everything has declined drastically. Maybe it's under new management? If you go in the morning during the week and there's one person in front of you expect to wait a good 15 minutes just for one drink. The lady is not friendly. Drastic change of service from the past two years we've been coming.

If you have food allergies or want great customer service, RUN from cast iron because you will be nothing but disappointed. I have been going to this place almost 10 years and I recommended it to plenty of people, but suddenly I take that all back. For the last 2 years it has been going down hill. I have experienced long wait times, cold waffles, un drinkable coffee, and overall rude staff. Despite all that, I kept coming back in hopes that it would turn back around. However, today ended that. My bf and I go this morning and he orders our food and coffee. He specifically says no Nutella or any nuts of any kind of the waffle because I am allergic. The receipt even said NO NUTELLA in all caps. When we get home we open the bag and the waffle is covered in Nutella so it had to be immediately trashed. We paid $22 for 2 medium coffees and a waffle that could quite literally send me the the hospital. We tried to call several times and they just don’t answer the phone. I have been there on multiple occasions when the phone rings over and over again and the workers are just playing on their phones instead of answering the company phone. We end up going back to cast iron with a picture of the waffle and show it to the lady who didn’t seem to care. She said it wasn’t her it was the owner who made the waffle and that she left and we couldn’t get a refund because only the owner knew how to do that. She offers to make us a new waffle which was cold and only had like 6 pieces of fruit on it. Such low effort especially for a restaurant who didn’t seem to care about a food allergy and if I assumed that waffle had chocolate on it instead of Nutella I would have gone to the hospital. The lady took down my boyfriends number and said the owner would call him back to discuss this but of course that didn’t happen. Safe to say I will NEVER be going back to cast iron and will not be recommending it to anyone again. I’ll say this again- If you have food allergies or want great customer service, RUN from cast iron because you will be nothing but disappointed. I would give this experience ZERO stars if I could.

Great waffles . .great price....but no matter how many people are working or how many customers, there no absolutely no sense of urgency.
