Tasty burritos at a fair price. The owner was very kind and told me a bit about the food and recommended some things. Besides getting a delicious burrito, I would recommend getting one of their milkshakes.
A new Mexican take out for Chorlton. When you walk in you get a sense of a really modern environment with a nice Mexican vibe from a large mural on one wall and a great colour scheme. The place is clean, tidy, and minimal. So minimal that you cannot tell what the food is or what the prices are..... which is a bit awkward. We had to get the staff member to explain, this was akin to an experience abroad where you don't really understand the food or language. If you have no clue what Mexican street food is, you will struggle. The food was covered but the server was happy to lift the lids, one at a time though so it was a bit of a memory test. It was suggested that we look at the web site which we did, after a while we realised you have to press order. There are pics, prices and names but the images are small and there are no descriptions, contents lists or larger images to click through to. No allergy information either so beware. The service was fast and the waiter was friendly. There are a couple of low chairs and tables to sit at. The food was OK but you have to choose carefully to build up the flavour. The rice was beautifully cooked and super quality. We had naked burritos, there were not enough beans for my taste. The guacamole is kinda runny and from a squeezy bottle as was the sour cream. Tasted OK though. The spicy chicken was fine but not particularly spicy. The hot sauce is firey and wonderful There were no lime slices and I like a little squeeze of lime on my chilli. We took the food home and it needed to be heated again even though we were only 10 min away. The portions are big and good value. They have lots of soft drinks without any artificial sweeteners, which I was thrilled about, so yay. I am not sure the sweary 90s rap video depicting scantily clad girls and extolling the virtues of sex and drugs was entirely appropriate for a public place. Food is served in nice cardboard boxes and wooden cutlery. Nice recycling, although my parter said she could taste the box. I could not but I can taste those dreadful polystyrene trays. We will go back and I am sure the experience will be better now the expectation is set. I hope this helps you chose and apologies for the wordyness. Do not be put off going, there is a lot to like, just follow the tips below. And give me a like if you got this far, thank you. Tip: Make your choices from the web site before you go and eat in the car as soon as you get your food. Don't take your grandma in, or your young kids, or friends with delicate sensibilities.
