Carnitas Uruapan Mexican Food

Sadly disappointed, ive been coming for years and they were a stable for great food for a good price. I dont know if by opening their second restaurant, they have decided to change the quality of their food; but its disappointing. I got a two menudo and a burrito. To start the menudos tasted, looked, and smelled as if it was a caldo that had been sitting on the burner all week only to be reheated water downed and re-served. The meat was not to par either it was completely falling apart and at the bottom of the soup was nothing but sediment of disintegrating granos and meet. Now onto the burrito. I got ta burrito with sausage and ham. And it was a decent size which was Eye Candy. But as soon as i took a bite i was struggling to find any ham. The good note the salsa made it eatable. However back the menudos i threw them out. I had multiple people try it to see of i was crazy and this is what drove the review. A solid honest one. We were regulars. Needless to say i wont be back

I ordered two Birria Tacos and they were delicious! The staff, they were very pleasant. Great food!

Their carne asada burritos are perfect! That’s all I ever order. The drive thru is handy when stopping by on my way home.

Tried the food from Carnitas Uruapan for the first and last time tonight. Our group called in an order of carnitas burritos, the surf and turf burrito, and a chicken quesadilla for pickup. Unfortunately none of us enjoyed the food which was quite bland and underwhelming. The carnitas burrito was just a sack of unseasoned, undercooked meat in a tortilla with a tiny smear of guacamole. The quesadilla was a lumpy, mushy mess of guacamole, chicken and a little bit of cheese. The surf and turf burrito was mostly beans and didn’t taste good. Overall disappointing and I would instead recommend the far superior El Pollo Grill in Lemon Grove.
