I don’t typically write reviews but felt the need to share our recent experience so others are aware. I’ve lived in Nashville for 10 years and had high hopes going here for the first time, based on reviews and some light research. Honestly one of the worst meals we’ve had in town. At the price point and reputation this needs to be better. My wife and I both ordered the Wagyu steaks ($70 and $110). I don’t how else to say it, they were just terrible. I have no problem with a high price for good food, but these were so low quality we stopped eating after a few bites. Tough, chewy, fatty and cooked poorly. Not even close to what any reasonable person would consider a good steak, let alone expect from a restaurant such as this. I was honest but polite when the server asked how everything was. He said he was sorry and would “let the kitchen know”. Sides were also extremely underwhelming. The staff was friendly and service fine, but there are so many better restaurants. Avoid this place at all costs.
I love Andrew Carmellini, and I’ve been to a couple of his restaurants in New York, so when I saw he opened up shop in Nashville, I had to check it out. Starting off, I know he has impeccable taste in cheese. I knew we had to get a few of the pastas and I was right, both the beef ravioli and the lamb ragu were phenomenal. The accompanying bread tasted like an elevated garlic knot, which was amazing bc we kept eating it, so fluffy and savory. We got the tomahawk and the wagyu bavette for the mains. The wagyu is a must get. Amazing and almost melts in the mouth. We liked the tomahawk, but the wagyu really stands out. Wouldn’t advise on the halibut as the sauce was sage/herb heavy and the fish itself not seasoned well, but this isn’t exactly the place to choose fish. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and ended with the chocolate cake and baked spumoni (both of which were absolutely amazing. We also enjoyed the fact that we didn’t have to worry about parking (validated for 3 hours). Service was impeccable, and I find no other complaints. Beautiful meal!
The server was awesome. The food is good for sure but the price is a little high even so. The noise level is over the top. We couldn’t hear each other. Not a repeat.
I’ve eaten here countless times and I am ashamed that I’ve never reviewed this place. The patio is beautiful and offers a warm comfort with the heaters during the cooler months. I’ve always found the inside of this restaurant to be very mellow and refreshing. The atmosphere really makes you feel relaxed with the way it is designed. I’ve never loved pasta more than the pasta I’ve had here. I would put this on my Nashville favorite bingo card every time. The short rib ravioli is 10/10. Perfectly cooked pasta every single time. Lastly, do not skip the panna cotta dessert. It’s a velvety, lush flavor that I can never pass up when I’m here.
Good steakhouse in the Gulch! Very nice concept with solid menu options ranging from oysters and seafood to steaks and wagyu beef. Drinks are average for what you would expect at a steakhouse. We ordered the Caesar salad, foie gras cones, wagyu bavetta steak, polenta and mushrooms. The wagyu was delicious. The appetizers and sides were good but not necessarily memorable. All in, it amounts to a nice meal but not a great one. Worth a visit if you haven’t been, but I don’t think this is going to become a regular spot for us. Did you find this review helpful? This is one of our favorite date night spots in town. Fantastic steaks and Italian fare. Tableside preparation is always fun! We’ve visited several times and never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!
A superb experience! The food and wines were varied and delightful. Selwyn, our waiter, made excellent recommendations, and the flow of the courses was perfect.
Truly an amazing experience. From service, drinks, and food, just great. We decided to check them out for a birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. Drinks (Old Fashined, Cosmopolitan) were great. Food was well-seasoned, taste was amazing, and portions were just right. Their wagyu steak is the bomb.
