Food, service and atmosphere were all great. Joe Carlucci (owner) is a warm, inviting host. Great location and beautiful outdoor space. Parking: Self parking garage right next door Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible.
There are a lot of great Italian restaurants in Chicago. This is not one of them. I decided to try the Bobonato, allegedly fresh linguine tossed in a Parmesan wheel, and adorned with basil and prosciutto. There’s no basil on my plate and there’s half of one piece of prosciutto hiding under the pasta that was soggy and flavorless. The Parmesan cheese bits were tasty but in no way saved the dish. My watermelon spritz was fine. One of my friends chose this restaurant because they have celiacs and wanted the gluten free pasta. Unfortunately, they were out of gluten free pasta - another sign the pasta just came from a box. Instead, she got a very sad looking risotto. If you want Italian in Chicago, I recommend going anywhere else.
Excellent food, service and wine. Eliel is an excellent waiter, we are tourists but, absolutely we'll come back. 100% recommended!!!!!
Today was the first time we had the opportunity to visit Carlucci and our server George is 100% responsible for us returning in the future. The atmosphere is very nice, the wait staff was all very nice, but George knocked it out of the park. I would say we had a nice experience overall, but George's standards were above and beyond and could tell that our experience wasn't the best it could be and he took every step he could to make our night as great as possible. We've been in Chicago for a while now and this is by far the best service we've received. 10/10 will be back and request to sit in George's section.
Just went here for my Birthday. It was our fifth time at this restaurant. Our previous encounters were very positive with a friendly wait staff and delicious food. However, this last time, our waiter was rude and inattentive. My Mom and I ordered Bobonato (one of our faves) and they left it sitting out for 5-10 minutes before bringing it to our table, which meant it was cold and didn't properly melt the parmesan cheese. My husband's chicken parmesan was bland and the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. Our waiter only checked on us once, so we couldn't even give him an honest account of how we were feeling about the dinner. Not sure I'll be going back, especially not on a Monday.
Great pizza. The cocktail menu changes regularly. Lots of good vegetarian options. Service quality varies.
Great with dietary restrictions. Thank you
