The service is horrible.. you’re paying $30 for a red snapper fish and they give a little bit of food, not only that, they are very rude and nasty to their customers. No one should support this establishment. What make it worst it’s a black owned.
i've ordered many different dishes, different combinations, different sizes and amounts yet somehow when i get to the cashier it always is $30. i think they make up whatever price based on how you look. and the food isn't consistently good... then maybe they'd have consistent customers and consistent prices.
I went to this restaurant on my break from work today. I ordered food for my co workers and myself. First order was the cod fish and banana and yam and dumplings. There WAS NO DUMPLINGS OR BANANA. They wouldn’t substitute plantains and bread fruit. So I paid for the plantains and bread fruit separately. The BREAD FRUIT was extremely salty and dry. Second order which was oxtails and peas and rice the oxtail was salty. The third order which was sweet chilli chicken with peas and rice we was given a small portion of chicken. JUST PREPARE TO GET mostly RICE AND very LITTLE MEAT or salty food.
Food was great cabbage was a little hard to me. But the BBQ wings are so good rice is good. Ordering goes by quick when you order however to order may take a little time depending when you come in.
My favorite Jamaica Restaurant is in New York. Believe me, the food is really good here. Try their homemade juices. Pineapple Ginger
I visited this place recently after my cousin said it’s pretty decent. I order a medium of oxtail with rice and peas and a side of wings. $27. I sat down in their dining area and as I was eating I notice a long strand of curly black hair. The wings was also cold. I let the girl know at the register & automatically she said it was mine. I told her it was not as my hair was straight and recently colored. She bickered with the staff in the back & came back and said well what you want to do about it? She wasn’t apologetic & very rude. I didn’t even want my money back. I was just trying to let them know that there’s hair in their food and she should have some type of compassion and better customer service. I will not be returning to this place. Some work is needed on seasoning the food, customer service and hair not being in their food.
I'm live in South FL and the Jamaican food there is good.....but Caribbean Star is the real star. For dinner we had curry goat which was seasoned just right and turned around the next morning and got the kidneys for breakfast. The chicken foot soup was not the best I've had but pretty good.
They always have fresh good food anytime of the day they got real Caribbean girls serving you so you're gonna get attitude and a generous plate
Food is always spicy and flavorful. They have a decent selection for vegetarians and meat lovers. The professionalism of some of the servers, though, leaves room for debate. Vegetarian options: They have a decent amount of vegetarian opinions. Including veggies rice, etc. I wouldn't recommend anything for vegans. Parking: The majority of the time, you'd have to double park. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible however they're door is a bit heavy to open at times.
