Captain Curt's Crab & Oyster Bar - Siesta Key

This place has a lot of potential, but being close to the beach, it seems like they don't really care. We had the shrimp and ribs combo and the shrimp and clams combo. If we weren't so hungry, we would have left most of it behind.

We have been going to Captain Curt’s several times a year for about 10 years and have had good experiences. But this visit was horrible! Our order was not placed correctly and our server didn’t really care or try to correct the problem. We asked for a manager and he was super rude and not caring!! Will not return!! So sad!

Amazing food as usual. We arrived before the evening rush and were given really crappy service. We were hungry so of course ordered the clam chowder with our drinks. No clam chowder ever. Our meal came out quickly but our waitress was no where in sight. After eating most of the shrimp dinner she stopped by, noted that our shared meal should have come out with two plates and that she’d get them. No extra plates ever. We pointed out that we had wanted the chowder first but never received it. She said there would there would be no charge so we asked that it be packaged to go. She then tried to charge us. A rude manager dropped a container on the table and said “here”. We are afraid to eat it!!!

Parking: Corner location. 2 separate restaurants. 1 more traditional restaurant. The other with a scaled down menu , easy access, open air concept. Suited us just fine. Kid-friendliness: Open seating. Open space. Live mainstream music. Wheelchair accessibility: Outdoor seating. Ground level seating areas.

This place was a mix. The host was rude but the server was very nice. The appetizers (gator bites, clam chowder and cheese curds) were very good, but the meal (fried seafood platter) was tasteless.

Captain Curt's is great! We visited there several times while on vacation.

Ate at the bar. Great tasting food and wonderful service from the bartender.
