I had never heard of this chain before but was craving a sub sandwich. I was about to head to Subway, which is nearby, but came across this and thought I would check it out. I must say, overall, I was quite happy! I ordered three subs to try and they were all quite tasty. The bread felt fresh and the ingredients taster higher quality than other chains. The menu feels a bit limited and the prices are a bit higher, but overall I am glad to know this is here! The biggest disappointment was the Bobbie, which they are apparently known for. The sandwich was super dry, bland, and nearly inedible. I was surprised given the reviews of this particular item. The chicken cheesesteak was so good and the American Wagyu French Dip was the best, and a great price for a item like this which would be double at most restaurants nearby.
I used to really like this place. Their sandwiches were great. But recently they changed their bread (pretty sure it’s the franchisee going rogue?).. it feels like they keep getting cheaper and cheaper when it comes to quality of ingredients and quantity for that matter. The last order I got the bread was completely different and was tough as hell and way more bread than what was inside my sandwich. Also, the wrapper was from another sandwich chain, which is very fishy (hence why I believe franchisee is going rogue). Not sure I will continue ordering here except for desperate times because it is very convenient and close to my apartment.
Great sandwich but I find it appalling that you're charging $5 for a cup of tap water. You really can't make money off of selling us a bottle of water for $5? Sad
Quick and delicious cheesesteak. If you are super hungry or sharing with 2 people, get the large. Else, the medium is just right for one person. I enjoy that the bread isn't super toasted and has a nice inside to soak up all the meat juices. Recommendation: get the classic cheesesteak with both the sweet and hot peppers. The peppers adds a nice kick that isn't too spicy contrasting from the savory cheese and meat.
Used to really like their sandwiches but the quality has gone down. The bread is stale, the flavor is gone. My favorite used to be the seasonal French dip, but upon ordering it recently I received no more than a tablespoon of the au jus. Since it was a to-go order I didn’t realize this until I was at work. The staffing clearly has a high turnover rate and most of the time they are understaffed for the demand during lunch hours. Some of the workers have been very kind.
The hot bobbie is absolutely amazing but we've gotten it cold, without stuffing (they didnt tell us), and we've placed a pickup order only to get there and find they were out of turkey and cancelled the order (again they did not tell us). You never know when this place will be open as it is randomly shutdown a lot. (Not just around the holidays to be clear) But hot damn is the hot bobbie good
Great vegetarian options, friendly service!
Really great sandwich (the Bobby) with top tier ingredients. Only thing for improvement was the bread. It wasn’t fresh and up to NYC’s high standards for bread in my opinion. Wasn’t very fresh. But it can make sense to use a roll like that when holding in heavier ingredients like their cheesesteaks I suppose. The service was amazing though. The young lady at the register was super nice and welcomed everyone when they arrived and double checked the ingredients in my order. I’ll definitely be trying some of the wagyu and cheesesteaks soon.
