Great little gem in the Wallingford neighborhood. Pici Amatriciana was a little bit soupy/watery but overall it tasted great especially the homemade pasta. The environment could be noisy during peak hours.
Walked in, waited patiently by the door. Nobody acknowledged our existence. Kept waiting. Kept waiting. Kept waiting. Nothing, not a "hello, we'll be right with with you", nothing. Kept waiting. Walked out.
Great space and delicious food.
*Probably a good wine selection but I like beer. Two draft options weren't great. *House salad had way too much pepper pre-mixed in (I like pepper and it was too much; my wife couldn't eat the salad). *Pasta was good but not spectacular. *Had to ask for bread, costs extra and it's more like corn bread. Very strange. *Service was poor, slow, and unfriendly.
It is rare to find excellent service AND food eating out- but Cantinetta crushed it. The ribeye was phenomenal as was the rigatoni. Highly recommend!
First, the positive notes: the place has a great vibe & atmosphere and is located in a lovely neighborhood. Service is pretty good as well, no complaints from me that evening. However, unfortunately, the pasta I had was really disappointing. The plate of picci tasted pretty lousy like some store bought sauce in a jar. The meat in the sauce did not taste like wild boar at all. I came to this place several years ago and had an ok experience and wanted to give it another try. Sadly after this recent visit I would stay away from this place because the food was neither quality nor authentic. Please do not call yourself Tuscan if you can't live up to the quality expected!
