Canela Vegan Bakery & Cafe

I've been a regular customer at Canela even before they switched locations. I'm always super happy to support vegan places and I love watching these local businesses grow and thrive! I've thought a while about writing this review and I'm hoping it can be taken constructively. I'm not sure what's been going on this last year, but the pastries the last few times I've been have been very dry and not up to the quality I've gotten in the past. The pastries taste like they're 2-3 days old. I used to get the pizza rolls all the time as well but the filling amount has decreased so I haven't gotten one in a while. I ordered a slice of cake the other day and the girl who cut it was sawing it off with crumbs everywhere and the piece was so small, I asked nicely if I could get another one. Shouldn't the cakes be pre-cut to ensure a consistent size/slice? This bakery leans more on the expensive side as well so it was frustrating to see the products decreased in both size and quality. The front staff is also slow and inefficient. I feel like I have to repeat my order numerous times and this isn' t just a one time experience, and the system of who takes the order, and who charges the customer - is there even a system? Seems different every time I come in. The front staff just needs to be on it a bit more, I chalked that up to learning curves when they first opened in Inglewood but it hasn't changed. I'm hoping Canela can improve so I can continue supporting them.

I’m so happy to have found this place as a vegan from the uk!! It’s honestly amazing, best cinnamon roll I think I’ve ever had big shout out to the almond croissant as well!

We (my husband, my two dogs, and I) are traveling through Canada in a Volkswagen T4 and are always on the lookout for great treats. We were not disappointed here! The coffee tasted great, and my cinnamon roll was excellent. My husband had the Vegan Sausage Baguette, which was also very, very tasty! Blown away at how good these vegan treats are! A customer brought them into work recently for a vegan coworker, and I got to try the carrot muffin, pistachio and almond croissant. They were perfect! Great work!

Great place for all vegan treats. The pizza rolls are my fav but it's difficult to chose, everything is amazing. Truly a gem along the historic 9th Ave in Inglewood. Return often and ready to try a new flavour - this time it was a pandan donut. Yum.
