Peak smoked and fried fish, by far the shining jewel of the far south side in temrs of quality. Their frogs legs, shrimp, and scallops were delicious, and that's not even to mention the smokey goodness that is their smoked salmon... in a league of its own for sure! I just hope they rebuild after the fire. Vegetarian options: No.
Temporarily closed b/c more than the fishes got smoked couple weeks ago
Worth the drive for this hole-in-the-wall seafood joint. Fried fish/shrimp and mayonnaisey sides. Quick service. They wood smoke the fish right behind the building.
Looks like the place caught on fire and they are temporarily closed until Lent.. I absolutely love the fish, HOWEVER, a little frustrated. Drove 2 hours out of my way to get some smoked fish because the hours said open until 8pm. Get there at 6:15 and it’s closed.. it was huge detour and I’m disappointed I didn’t get any fish and wasted a ton of time and gas.
I can't write anything here that will do this place justice. Just go here and make sure to get something smoked to go for later.
I can only comment on the Smoked Salmon but I’d have to say it’s easily the best I’ve ever had. I fish Lake Michigan Salmon, but unfortunately cannot even come close to smoking them this perfectly. I’ll be stopping in on my way to or back from Chicago trips
best smoked salmon and shrimp please reopen soon next year . when it reopens can we have the blues Brothers jump from the east side and stop at calumet fisheries lol
Great smoked fish! Will be back to try some others. Make sure you bring cash because it's cash only.
