California Shabu Shabu

They did not have sake bombs, but were happy! to accommodate!

This was my first time trying Shabu Shabu, so I was a bit nervous. But the staff was wonderful, friendly, and patient with me. The food was delicious and I can’t wait to go back.

If you are looking for a over simplified, over priced and healthier version of hotpot, this place maybe. For me, the food is just not satisfying. I felt like a college student walking into a kindergarten. The meat is counted by pieces, the veggies has fixed type and portion for everybody, the soup is so plain and flavorless, and the dipping sauce has so limited choices. I am speechless when I see carrots in my hotpot. Hotpot should be much more than water boiled meat and veggies. This place is not family friendly and not for big group of people. The restaurant design also has problem. Customer should be able to adjust the heat level, but the adjustment is in the inner counter and customers cannot reach it. So when water boils, there is risk that water will come out. The servers are supposed to help you adjust the heat level in that case, but they are not always around. With so many hotpot options around, I don’t see myself coming back. The overall experience is very disappointing.

First time for Shabu Shabu this place was great. The quality of the ingredients was great. The staff was great. (Extremely helpful with being new to Shabu).

Our server was very patient and kind in explaining the menu and assisting us with making the shabu. It was my first time and it was honestly very filling. I would not recommend the cherry blossom cocktail, tastes a bit like medicine. But the other folks i was with had the japanese beer and they really enjoyed it

Best place to bring friends!

Really excellent lunch experience. Food was delicious and they explained how to use the cook pot and have tips. Was neat that our shabu shabu pot turned into essentially a ramen dish at the end. Just a delicious dining experience.
