California Pizza Kitchen at Waterford Lakes

Delicious

Went in for lunch and got the 7" pizza and soup. I got the Margherita pizza and Sedona Tortilla soup. It was all very tasty, and at an $11.99 price point it's not too bad. Overall a good experience.

I'm going to be completely honest here. I usually don't make 1 star reviews. Hey, this might even be my first one. We were a party of 4 on Friday at 5:45 pm. Plenty of seats. Got seated right away. We get our menus. We decide on getting 2 appetizers and 2 pizzas. We wait around 15 minutes. Nobody shows up to even take our orders. Not even for soft drinks. We are sitting next to a guy who had finished his food and had a drink in hand. We engaged in a conversation and asked how long were you waiting for? He said he got his good at a good time but had been waiting 30 minutes for a alcoholic drink that he no longer wanted because he had to drive. 15 more minutes go by. Man is still there. We are still waiting. At this point, there're 2-3 waiters/waitresses at the kiosk 2 feet away from us. All 5 of us, looking directly at them, watch as they look directly back into our eyes, just waiting for I don't even know what. We decide to wait 2 more minutes. Same Old, same old. Oh, did I mention the restaurant wasn't even half full? Anyway, we decide to leave. 45 minutes there, wasted. We wish the guy sitting next to us good luck with the servers and to have a safe night. After the door closes to leave the restaurant, I see the same waitress at our table, taking all our menus and silverware off the table. It's literally 2 seconds after the door closes.

Last evening, January 17, 2024, my husband and I went to the CPK in Waterford Lakes around 4 p.m. for an early dinner. Once we were seated, a young man named Jon came to take our drink order (sweet tea and water with lemon). He had another table for which he was responsible and we watched as he brought their drinks and bread. He never returned with our drinks, which we noticed were sitting on the counter/bar; he was busy chatting with co-workers behind the counter and we could never catch his eye to ask about our drinks or place our order. After we waited for about 15+ minutes having never gotten our drinks, we got up and left the restaurant, very, very disappointed. We have noticed recently that there seems to be a rather high turnover rate with the wait staff there but we have never experienced this low level of service there before. We were very disappointed as we have really enjoyed eating there in the past and hope that this does not indicate a new direction for this place.
