This was an ok experience. The service from the guy at the bar was awesome, but the food failed to deliver. I have the carnitas and chicken tacos. The carnitas was old, like it was cooked 2 days ago. I understand that carnitas takes a while to cook, and you may use it the next day to prevent food waste, but this carnitas was atleast 2 days from its original cook date. It was dry and the meat was hard. I was disappointed in that. The chicken was meh, just ok. It’s also understandable that you want an exotic tortilla, but it must be able to withstand the moisture of the filling. By the time I finished the carnitas taco, the chicken taco was crumbling in my hand. Hopes were high, but the food fell short. I’d come back for drinks at the bar, but I’d pass on the food.
I'm glad to see the closing of Calavera. A restaurant who's history is built on the stolen recipes, fired the employees who reported wage theft. Typical gentrification garbage that won't be missed
The food was great portion a little small for the price of things. I had the quesadillas, delish!
Fantastic food. Probably best food in Bay area. Must go there. Surprisingly good twist on food. Loved it
Different type of flavors little different style. We enjoyed it hreatly
Outstanding mole— perfect amount of heat. And our waitress said that was her 5th best entree, with the fish tacos being the top of the top. We also had the guacamole, which was truly excellent.
Absolutely delicious food. Consistently excellent all around.
Delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful decor!
Cocktails are interesting, creative and delicious. The appetizers were perfect amount and a good balance of flavors. The whole red snapper was moist and paired well with the salsa. The servers were very attentive. Made sure I got my wine delivered with my dinner, rather than waiting for both drinks to be ready. I highly recommend this restaurant!
